LOD Trees in MilkShape

This is my second resource. So any mistakes or anything, just let me know.
I'm assuming you know the basics of making a tree in Milkshape...its a really basic idea on making the tree, then the main aspect of the tutorial is regarding your setup for exporting with the Torque DTS Plus exporter and making it work properly.
Also, regarding the Transparency issue for Milkshape with the original exporter...have a png with an alpha channel and move the right slider to about 75% on your material. Most know...but people new to Milkshape...that can be kind of a stressful thing to figure out.
So check out the tutorial and hope it helps!

New, more advance tutorial here
God Bless!

I will be updating and putting these tuts on my new site soon so the links will work again.
Sorry about that.

About the author
I used to be obsessed with building my own open-ended RPG and a 3D Side Scroller RPG. But the job/house/girlfriend got in the way. I know, I know. Now I concentrate on doing architectural renderings (with the help of T3D of course) and VBA programming.

I like your maze game, that is a cool idea with a lot of possibilities and a lot of fun to play.

Thanks for the resource J! I have people on my team who could actually benefit from a tutorial on how to make a good low-poly tree and bushes too, if you ever feel inclined to write up a more introductory tutorial to preceed this. :)Blessings to you!

Thank you, I will get you a better tutorial that describes the whole process of putting a tree/bush together, making the leaves and the .png leaves picture and setting up a more complex LOD. It might be a week or so, but I'll get it done and update on this resource.
I just finished up two more tuts about making Polysoup structures and Organic Caves at http://www.snakebitestudios.net/index_files/Page350.htm. They are in an unapproved resource. I'm also currently working on a tut for exporting DSQs and getting them working in Torque. I'm just making tuts as I get things figured out. I'm also going to make a tut for StaticObject animations. If you guys have any other tuts you would be interested in, let me know.
Torque rocks!

A tutorial on how to add a weapon flash could be useful, I never quite worked that one out with Milkshape3D.

I messed around with the assult rifle off of the Jill Pack, it has the gun flash on it, but I'm not for sure how it all works. I will continue to figure out how you make that and get it into torque properly and make a tutorial about it. I was also thinking that maybe the same theory could be applied to make some really cool magic spells and even give some static shapes some nice eye candy.
