Torque 3D Show Off Thread!

I think it's about time we started a show off thread for cool Torque 3D stuff.
Screenshots are great... but a YouTube HD video gives you massive bonus points. :)
Ready... Set.... GO!

@Kory: Thanks! Actually, they are part of the Cliff Construction Kit. The new Torque 3D version of the Kit comes with diffuse, detail and normal maps (normal maps with speculars embedded in the alpha channel). So they are perfect for terrains right out of the box.

I'm surprised L3DT was able to crank out detail like that. I must suck using it. Or did Torque 3D do that?

@Mark: It's the settings in Torque 3D. L3DT does its job flawlessly, but you still need to tweak the terrain materials to look good enough. Here are a few pointers:
- use the diffuse texture for its color only. this scene uses the same desert diffuse texture for all its materials..
- detail textures are very important to have. if you don't have them, generate them from your textures (they are basically gray versions of your textures) and use them with a 0.6-0.9 ratio.
- for steep terrain use a larger detail size (20) that's visible from far away (1000), for ground textures, they blur either way, so to fight repetition and add detail, use a small size (6) and a short visibility distance (20)
- you need normals and speculars for the little details to show in the scene
- i don't use parallax unless the texture is something like a brick wall or a cobblestone
- i use dof to hide the lost detail over distance
I hope these help a bit.

Just curious, what is your FPS with the settings used in that pic? Also, what's your CPU/Vid card?
Thanks!

My specs: Intel Core2 Duo E7300 @ 2.66Ghz, 4GB RAM, Vista 64 Ultimate, GPU: Nvidia 8800 GTS.

@Pete: This is in 1.1 Alpha. Without DOF, I get 65-110 fps depending on what's on the screen. It never went below 65. With DOF on I lost only about 2-3 fps, which is pretty cool imho.My specs: Intel Core2 Duo E7300 @ 2.66Ghz, 4GB RAM, Vista 64 Ultimate, GPU: Nvidia 8800 GTS.

That is EXCELLENT! Thanks for that information man =) Doing a great job... I've been trying to get something similair out of L3DT for my project.

Ok, so making a tropical climate for L3DT was a bit more than I was expecting... I'm not even halfway there yet. Sucks because it's creating more delays.. *sigh*. I really should've practiced this more.

Dosen't even compare with anything I've already seen on this thread, but here is something I was able to put together with L3DT and T3D (nice and snowy):i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm151/coffeeaddict21/t3dss.png

CrazyBump really does the magic. This is just a prototype environment for a crystal environment pack I'm working on.

I thought you'd like to see where we're going with our port into Torque3D now that GDC is out of the way....We're loving the HDR and water FX...Kudos to the GGs brethren !!
