Newbie DTS (milkshape) exporter question

by Jesse Munro · in Technical Issues · 01/31/2003 (11:34 am) · 3 replies

When I try export a dts file from milkshape the option, "Use this mesh" (for collision) is grayed out. I have a mesh named "collision", and from all the documentation I have read, this should be used as the collidable mesh. Can anyone help me fix this problem?

I already found a quasi answer to this question in the "3D Modeling" forum. (Sorry for posting in this forum, I didn't realize there was a seperate forum for 3D graphic).

How exactly can I export to DTS format using MilkShape? I think I may have missed something in the resources or tutorials.

You compiled the ms2dts exporter plugin that gets the DLL copied to the tools directory of the Torque SDK directory. Then you copy or move that DLL file into MilkShape 3D's program directory. Then load up or restart MilkShape and after you've done a model export the model as a DTS object.

Here's also some useful information that you could use to get you going faster on how to do neat things with the exporter: www.garagegames.com/docs/torque.sdk/tools/milkshape.html
