IK for imported rigs: any luck yet?

I've been trying to get my imported FBX rigs setup for some animation in HD, and I'm using the 'leg video' as an example of setting it up.
I get thru the example video to discover that my NULLs work fine, the KINchop was produced and got the twist effectors pathed, got the goals with the heel and toe as well. What I don't see moving is the bones at all!!!
Has anyone tried to setup IK in HD on an imported rig?
