Using Groove: First Impression

Well, after all this time, we have finally did an extensive hands on with Groove, and like Tim said, it has its ups and downs :)
First off, we didn't use it for anything serious really, we just wanted to go over some of the features. I can say that it is a bit complicated...almost got lost a few times between a chat and setting up the personal space. once you get the hang of finding out what is where, you should be ok. I appreciate the fact that you can invite someone into your personal space from your ICQ list. It would be a bit better if you could talk to them through it as well :)
OK, about the personal space. The first thing we tried was the shared web browsing. a pretty nice feature, kinda slow but does the job. There did seem to be a problem with sharing files. After we reached this section, we couldn't get the chat to work. We'd have to leave and come back. Displaying pictures was fine, and we got into a Tic Tac Toe obsession (One of our teammates has NEVER played Tic Tac Toe!!!!).
The voice chat is a little wierd. Yahoo's voice chat is mech better IMHO. One thing I did like was that it kept you updated on what your contacts are doing. For instance, it tells you when they send you a message, are typing one, when they recieve one of yours, etc. One of the sorse things are that it is a MEMORY HOG, worse than ICQ :)
Well, all in all, I thought it was a pretty cool application. At this point I'm not really too sure on how extensive we will be using it. Its seems to still be a bit buggy, and not terribly efficient. We'll probably continue to use it, but not in an overly dependent way. To be honest..i still prefer ICQ :)
Worth checking out tho!!

We tried Groove for GG team interactions. It was way too slow, so we bagged it.Jeff Tunnell GG

Plus, I find I have problems with system resources, never really RAM, but just other resources, no matter how much RAM I have I can't seem to be in too many programs or the resources dwindle for the GUI and I get errors everywhere, so memory hogs can't be used very much with many other big applications.
Anyone know if Windows NT 2000 or ME has less problems with these resource issues?
