Minimal Network Coding Example?

by DavidRM · in Torque Game Engine · 08/29/2002 (9:26 am) · 13 replies

Before we started digging into this on our own, I wanted to see if anyone had already done it...

What we're looking for is a minimal example of using the Torque networking code. Specifically, how to use the Torque network layer to create the simplest possible server and client.

This is useful for, as an example, creating a master server to list games available, or for creating separate servers that are accessed by the game server. The idea is to use only the networking classes and code that required, and not include things like the GUI and game-related data structures.

Thanks in advance!

I'll take that as a "No, not really". ;-)

Hopefully, I'll have something useful to post by the end of next week. Research research research...

So ... anything yet?

I'm at the same point now - just about to tear about starter.fps to figure out what makes it tick ...
