Anyone tried Game Builder on Vista?

Hey all, I'm hoping that someone might have tried TorqueX Game Build on Vista and have gotten it to run. I know it's probably not "supported" yet (as it isn't with XNA), but I was able to get XNA installed fine and run it fine if run as Administrator.
However, when I try to run Game Builder, the window will only show up if I right-click the app in my start bar and Maximize it. Even then, the mouse doesn't show up so I can't choose any options or do anything.
Anyone have any thoughts? I'm dying to use TorqueX, but my job requires me to be running Vista on my laptop (yes, that's right :P).

I don't want to dual-boot though because of a single piece of software (everything else I need or want to do works fine for me on Vista). However, I feel rather silly as an update to the latest driver from ATI for my Mobility Radeon did the trick :). Now it appears to be working. Well, it at least opens up now. I'll try to check out whether it is fully functional tomorrow.

Actually, I hate to correct you, but Vista has RTM'd (not released to open public, but released internally and to businesses), it has been very stable for me, and surprisingly supported as well. Then again, I do work for the company :P. I'm an evangelist and developing against the features in a virtual machine, well, sucks :).I don't want to dual-boot though because of a single piece of software (everything else I need or want to do works fine for me on Vista). It would be great to hear the results of yoru tests. We have been heads down on the initial release of TX, and have not had the time to check it on Vista yet.-Jeff Tunnell, GG

No problem Jeff. Should I just send you an email after a while of working with it?

Problem with Vista as far as I know is that the XNA framework won't install in it, it says so in the download page on microsoft.com.

I know people who've gotten XNA and GSE and TXE to install in Vista. I just have to remember who it was....

Even though Vista is not "supported" when it comes to XNA, the only problem I have is that C# Express crashes when you close it (which doesn't matter to me because I am closing it anyway). You simply have to install C# Express SP1 (Beta, perhaps still) using elevated permissions. Then install XNA with elevated permission (launching it from a command line that is running as Administrator, for example). I did the same with the TorqueX beta and I'm good to go :).

FYI, i didnt have to load new drivers to get it to work, but i had to go into the prefs file and change the resolution because what it ships with is a resolution my computer doesnt support. its an odd sized widescreen. I actually had to do a similar change for TGB to work as well.Dave

Odd. But you could always dual-boot into an actually released, stable & supported platform which XNA and TorqueX support.
