Search returns indiegamescon.com

All blogs (maybe other returns as well) returned in search are pulling up as indiegamescon.com. This is a minor inconvenience, as the link returns a 404 error.

It happens to me with some searches for documentation and resources as well, maybe even the forums. The way to get around it is to copy the link location and replace the indiegamescon.com with garagegames.com and then you will get to the correct page. This started happening at least a little over a week ago I believe.

The indiegamescon.com url error has been there for months, but it was quite a few pages until a week or two ago.

It's deeply annoying...I do a LOT of searching on this site, and naturally the link that seems to have exactly what I need to know inevitably is taking me to a 404 on that site.

They are working on it since late last week. Rick said people from Google are looking into it as we speak.

As Stephan said, Rick is working directly with Google on this issue. It has to do with the recent hook up to Akamai.

When you get linked to indiegamescon.com, select indiegamescon in the address bar and replace it with garagegames. If that's your symptom, that'll fix it.

For instance on the DSotD for Tankbuster:

It links to the download at:
ftp://demos.garagegames.com/t2d/TankBusterGame_1_1_1.zip

but whenever I go to these //demo. pages thye do not work.

I have run across many such failed downloads.

Thanks, I fixed the link on the link on the IOTD page.
The link was already correct on the TGB Demos page.
Here's the correct URL (HTTP instead of FTP):
