Need your help - logo decission

by Sebastian Erben · in General Discussion · 08/21/2006 (7:11 am) · 13 replies

Since my team Rising Realms left me alone and I can't use the name by myself I have decided to go on my own with a name and domain I have since long but never really used it: Wit Software. I have created 3 logos and I want your advice which one to chose.

Logo 1: The stylish one

Logo 2: The funny/witty one

Logo 3: The lightweight one

I don't like 2.

1 is nice for a "serious" kind of thing.

I would choose 3. Looks nice and fresh. I would make the inner logo a bit bigger.

Logo 1 would be my choice out of those 3.

- It's simple
- Stands out
- Easy to read
- Easy to remember, easily recognizable

@Tim, Bardur & Keith: Personally I like #1 best, too. But I wanted other opinions as well :) But glad my taste is not that bad ^^

@Magnus: Wow, when I first searched for WIT related companies I didn't find any (ok, that was a few years ago but according to your website Wit Entertainment exists since 2002). Today there's even www.wit-software.com -.- These guys have simply registered this domain because I had already registered witsoftware.com.
I hope you don't mind if I go with witsoftware.com. Wit Software is not the same as Wit Entertainment anyway.

Of them, the third one has the most potential. The concept is solid, it just needs to be more smooth. The "w" and "t" don't need to be connected (it looks like wTt, not wit), they should be clearer and I think you can do away with the black-on-black slash through the middle.

Nah, I don't mind Sebastian. Just found it slightly amusing. =)

It depends what games you are making - Logo 3 if younger kids are your target audience. Otherwise I like Logo #1 - that logo looks like it could be on a box. If you ever publish a game that would be on shelves etc... that logo would look the best on the back of the box by all the other logos. :) lol

Thank you all for your opinions on this matter. I have decided to go with logodesign #1 :)

The links arnt working for me,

but speaking as a Graphic Designer, please make sure the logo you choose is a vector image(that way it can scale infinitly without losing any image quality. I have had alot of companies give me there logo in a raster format, only for them to have to pay me for extra time to trace the logo out and make it vector.

I have also found that simple logos work best, easy for people to remeber.

Example:'

Thats the logo for Digital Awakenings (my company)
