Help with milkshape

by Jermaine Morgan · in Artist Corner · 07/23/2006 (9:05 am) · 8 replies

I know i am probably suppose to ask these questions on the milkshape forum. But i have not been able to login yet so i will ask here.

I was hoping that some one here can tell me how to apply a texture to a model.
I tried some tutorials. Is there like a mesh or texture maker i can use for the models?

sorry i f this does not belong here

Check on MilkShapes site, there are excellent beginner tutorials that will teach you how to apply textures. Any graphics application that supports layers will work for well making textures.

One more question, is it possible to edit(aplly a texture) the back side of a model i make in milkshape?
when i say the backside i'm talking about the the side that is black.

Yes you can but, you can only have one side of a triangle textured at a time so either way you'll always have a 'black' side. You'll want to use "reverse vertex order" to flip the textured side. If you're making a plane/sheet and want both sides textured for example, you'll need to create two meshes and use vertex order to flip one of the planes around. This is how you'd make a "billboard". Hope that helped?
