Resources

Just an inquery to GG wondering if they have a plan to get resources authorised faster? I know a lot have been submitted and not approved yet. Is their a timeline when we can start seeing those?

I love TDN, but is there a way to see recently submitted resources? Perhaps I missed that, but without such a feature it's difficult to keep yourself updated on the latest resources. I find the GG resources good because I can log in, take a look and then log out again - if all I'm looking for is resources.
I know you guys are busy bees, but something similiar connected to the GG website trough TDN would be tons helpful.

I agree with Stefan, that's why I still like the resources section here more than TDN. TDN would be great if there were a listing of newly submitted 'resources' or 'sections'.

Also you don't get a comments section for questions or feedback like you do with resources. I sort of prefer the TDN more for articles and documentation and the resource system for sharing code components. I guess this is basically what you mean Stephen.

I agree with the others. You will never see more activity on TDN until it is integrated into the main site. The tighter you can integrate it the better. As for resources, I submitted one about 2 months ago and still havent seen it.

- maybe words to that effect could be displayed early in the Resource Submission process.
eg "have you thought about submitting this to TDN instead?"

I also agree, on the site I can see newly submitted resources that I would quite easily miss on TDN. TND is good if you know what your looking for but somtimes I see a resource and think "ah that will be useful" which I won't get if I need to search TDN for them.

So, TDN aside, can we get some sort of update on when we can expect resolution to the resource stuff? I hear you have a new intern there... *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*

Interns don't approve resources--in fact, currently only Josh Williams approves resources (lots of things go into resource approval, it's not just a rubber stamp!).

step 1 - open up the resource submission
step 2 - open solitaire
step 3 - loose horribly at solitaire AGAIN
step 4 - see how long the resource is
step 5 - get bored halfway through reading the resource and slam the virtual 'rubber stamp' on it
=)

I tend to agree with Tom Spilman. I think the resources and TDN would be best if we had them work together. Most of the good TDN articles have links and references to Resources. Please don't hold back resources to try to get more people using TDN. People will come around :)

Any update on this?

TDN allows for much more easily updatable resources, peer review and enhancement, and a wealth of other capabilities.
