Foliage Replicator *square

Has anyone come up with a way to efficiently make the replicator populate a map area in a square pattern? For example a field of crops?
I have seen the mod for creating blocks that occlude an area, and using multiples would allow you limit the replicators placement to a square pattern, but I would prefer a more direct solution.
I have played with the seed pattern to try to achieve the result but no luck.

Yup, I assumed that it was, and was very surprised when a search didn't turn up one.

I know its not doing exactly what you want but my thought is, if you can get it to work, that
you should be able to shape this to do what you want.
For Example(and I havnt tried it) you could block the sides of the fx replicator with the blocker
and it should give the appearance of a straight line?
This is the resource here, like I said I havnt tried it before, just remebered where it was.
Good Luck

O.k There is mod called a fxReplicatorBlocker by Thomas Man of Ice Lund in 2004.I know its not doing exactly what you want but my thought is, if you can get it to work, that

BTW In the original Posts on the fxReplicator when it was first being made there where already thoughts of doing this in different shapes. I obviously dont know what came of it all, but that was back in 2002.

Thanks very much. That was the one resource I could locate, but it requires engine changes and I want to keep that to a minimum with my content pack environment.
If I can't come up with a script solution then I may have to fall back on that resource.
This begs the question, is there a running wish list of features that would be useful changes to the engine?

changes it looks really cool.
If this is the sart of a wish list then I will offer up this as my one and only wish...
Please make an elevator/platform/lift system with all the bells and whistles that
works simply by animating any DTS object....THATS IT.
Good luck Todd.

I would modify the original replicator to pick a random position within a square instead of a circle. Should be maybe 4 lines of code - in engine unfortunally!

That may be the path I have to take. And then in my docs, I can point to the resource so that those who buy the pack can replicate it.

I was about to tackle this today, but someone pointed out this thread to me.
Have you had any progress on square shape replication?
I had been thinking I would support straight lines first. You set the corner object, then tell it to replicate in a straight line for whatever distance. And I had been considering an option to keep the intervals constant (I wanted this to make a "fence" of sorts).
