Starting games

I'm going to start off making really simple-minded games for children. Playing as a monkey collecting bananas, or a dinosaur, cars..etc. Very simple stuff we may not find exciting, but kids and parents may love it. I'll also be making arcade-like games.. spinoffs of connect 4, Geometry Wars, board games, card games and more (for low spec computers) (also sold for cheap $12)
Would this be a good idea? I don't really know much about the market for children's games in the industry. Is it fairly big?

I'd need to do some research so I can't base this of anything worthwhile but I'd say it's a great market to tap into.
If you're making kids games you must master the art of making a game simple to play and easy to understand or you'll quickly loose the kids interest.

If you ventured into educational kids games then yes it's a good idea. I also don't know much about the market for children's games but I know it exists and others have had great success with it. Yea I was thinking about educational games as well. Wasnt sure if there was a decent market for that, but I could try selling them to schools
