I really, really wish they were showing Republic PUBLICLY at E3. It's all closed-door again. *sigh* That game is going to be a revolutionary one. Frankly, it's the only game I'm looking forward to this whole year. Until then, it's Thief 1 & 2, Tribes and DAoC.

Warcraft 3... THE CATEGORY IS: OVER-RATED BORING GAMES!
I win! :p
I've lost all respect for Blizzard once I played the abysmal Diablo 2. Next we'll see Starcraft 3d with same gameplay, and diablow 3 with same gameplay but nice 3d models. Next, they'll make a 3d mmorpg and then finally they'll go for a more real-time combat game based on either warcraft, starcraft or diablow.
They are a cookie cutter company, and well... they got more money than I do :p I Doubt i'll ever buy another Blizzard game again. If you've played Starcraft and Diablo you've seen all they have to offer...

I met alot of cool people. Killcreek and I teamed up on John Romero to bust his chops a bit about her kicking his butt in Quake DM, which was an experience. He was a real sport about it and actually didn't have the "rock star" attitude that everyone at the time accused him of having. Real nice guy actually, and a true fan of video games if ever I've met one.
A moment that I'll never forget was actually standing within arm's reach of Shigeru Miyamoto (over by the PS2 display, of all places; guess he was checking out the competition :-). I wasn't sure whether to say hi and ask for a photo or start bowing profusely... so I did neither. Yes I know, I'm a geek. What can I tell ya? Spending insane hours of my life on SMB and Zelda are what inspired me to become a game designer :-).
Anyways.. E3 is alot of fun and I highly recommend experiencing it if you have the means.
Just a word of precaution to anyone planning to go.. Bring VERY well padded shoes/sneakers. It won't stop your feet from hurting altogether after walking around for 8 hours, but it'll help keep them from falling off :-).
Oh.. and bring an extra suit-case because you will be leaving with *lots* of free stuff...
Anyhoo.. my two-cents :-)...

Man.. I would love to go this year. I went in 1999 and 2000 with a team I was co-developing a game with, and it was a great time.I met alot of cool people. Matt? Actually i think StarCraft was an excellent game if not the best strategy game made, at least that's how i see it. StarCraft is like chess, not like those silly C&C games where you build 100 tanks and 1000 soldiers and go attack the enemy's base construction yard directly.About diablo, yeah i agree that's not a good game... very stupid... click kill click kill.... and they even call it an rpg.. bah...

My point was that Blizzard has a track record of taking great unique games and beating them into the ground, but still managing to sell many copies.
Oh, and who is Killcreek?
If it's one of those "pro gamers" I might have to kill someone. As nice as it sounds to worship some fat guy with long hair and acne, I really would rather stick to baseball and football if I have to pick a "sport".
Ah... this will spur a side-thread!

This game is the only reason E3 would be interesting for me. But they aren't showing it publicly. >:(
But. Wow. I mean, Republic is one of those *really* revolutionary and incredible games; way more so than Black and White. Almost every aspect of it is in some way revolutionary, not just in gameplay but in the INCREDIBLE technology (and of course the way that their technology actually improves the gameplay, heh).

The "Republic" game you were referring to. Do you have any active links that give a bit about its premise? Sounds interesting.
