Apparently the "More Unread Posts" link does what the old "read undread posts" did... I'm still not quite sure about this design myself either... oh well.

Furthermore, in addition to the broken layout problem, I don't like the changes to this page because all the information I want is no longer available at once. I can no longer see all the newest plans at the same time! I have to choose between seeing the community plans or the GG plans, and the Associates have been split out of the community list into yet another tab! I also have to choose between viewing the latest forum threads or the latest news headlines. I don't like this. I want to see all of these lists on the same page, as it used to be. This new design requires too much extra clicking.
My $0.02.
Edit: minor hyperlink change

Ugh. Web developers should never make assumptions about the size of the user's fonts. I like some of the changes to the site layout. The forum and the plan pages in particular are much cleaner. I notice the side bar is gone now, and I like that. The next/previous plan buttons are a nice touch as well. However, the main Community page doesn't look so good to me.Furthermore, in addition to the broken layout problem, I don't like the changes to this page because all the information I want is no longer available at once. The development community section is very difficult to use now and I like to be able to see at a GLANCE what's new and current.
The home page is nice.

I think the overall site is better and easier to navigate. The development community section is very difficult to use now and I like to be able to see at a GLANCE what's new and current.

Easier to navigate i think this new site makes everything more complicated. Change always makes it a little harder but i think the last site was much clearer.

But, I don't like the tabbed information that used to be displayed all on one page for the develpment community home page. And even then in ways the last page was even less information then the original site.
I prefer a page that I can see everything new at once, each version of the website seems to be making less of that information available without clicking around.

The improvements to the top navigation and general site improvements look very nice and function well. Nice work. But, I don't like the tabbed information that used to be displayed all on one page for the develpment community home page. edit: If your using iframes, they're whats causing this problem . . . with the page cut off.

One Comment: Mucho Mucho Better. This is a real step up. The next step i bet will be AJAX integration. <3 To GGedit: If your using iframes, they're whats causing this problem . . . with the page cut off.

It's not Iframes. The problem is the CSS. In the file /css/fixed/container.css, line 47, the content box is set to a fixed width, and the overflow is set to hidden. Unfortunately, the alternatives are "visible" or "scroll", neither of which produce very good results (although either would be preferable to hidden!!).
CSS seems to lack the ability to "expand on demand" like HTML tables can. If I'm not mistaken, the width you specify is the width you get, period. I know of no way to say "make it X pixels, unless the content can't fit". This is a serious flaw in CSS, imo.
CSS3 seems to have addressed this (sort of), with extended word-wrapping parameters, but I'm not sure which browsers support this.
Given that this page already uses at least one HTML table, I would suggest using tables to control the width of the page, instead of CSS.

We think the new site is a big step up. We agree that the Community page needs some tweaks, adn will be making some more changes next week. After every site design, we get a lot of complaints because things change a little. I'm sure I use the site as much or more than anybody there, and I don't want my day to day functionality messed up either:) The new design gives us much more functionality and the ability to make changes more easily.-Jeff Tunnell, GG

But, I get the shakes something terrible when I can't login...
=P
Will this update in any way improve the TDN -> GG HOmepage login loop?
