This is a good single player demo of the upcoming Starship Troopers game.
Based on the movie. It will also feature multiplayer deathmatch and co-op

I really liked the movies, but was unimpressed with the game.

Great screenshot! I have been waiting years for a novel based game, but alas.......................... :(

Stay the hell away from the straightto video sequel though. It was made for $30,000 and they used blue screens to put the actors into scenes from the original movie. We're talking Kung Pow Enter the Fist territory here but not funny. That reminds me of the matrix cow. :)
If Doom the movie is as good as Starship Troopers than I'll be happy with it. Sometimes you just want to see em blow shit up.

Yeah, wouldn't that be sweet!!

Man, Starship Troopers the movie WAS a video game movie. That's what I liked about it. Hard core. Subversive. Lamest dying words in a movie EVER. But still fun enough to overcome. Wish it had made enough money for a real sequel. Stay the hell away from the straightto video sequel though. I'll never forget my flat watching it, all looking at each other wondering when it would end. Perhaps only Going Overboard was a more uncomfortable video to watch.

I loved Starship Troopers, but the sequel was awful. Its almost as if someone had an alien type movie script, but got the rights to Starship Troopers and tried to tie it into the storyline somewhere along the line.I'll never forget my flat watching it, all looking at each other wondering when it would end. Perhaps only Going Overboard was a more uncomfortable video to watch.

I loved the first one, as underated and corney as it was. I still have both a VHS and DVD.
Demo is fun...but a bit hard by the way.

To me the sequel seemed like an over budget sci-fi porno...thats just my opinion.I loved the first one, as underated and corney as it was. I still have both a VHS and DVD.

I'm a huge SST movie fan and if the developers don't make it ridiculously hard by sending you out alone. This game will rock.

I thought parts of the demo were awesome. They have you go retrieve a battery and some mines and come back to the base. You get swarmed. I died like a hundred times before making it. That part really should give you some squadmates. When I finally was able to live through that I got back to the base and it was swarmed. This time it seemed like thousands like in the movie. The bugs began breaching the wall then a tank bug busts through the base and the demo ends. I'm a huge SST movie fan and if the developers don't make it ridiculously hard by sending you out alone. This game will rock.

Didn't the sequel go straight to video? I loved the first one but I predicted a sharp quality drop when I heard "straight to video" for the sequel and didn't even give it a second look. The game looks cool though. I'm gonna check it out.-Ajari-

Don't bother watching the second one... Rather buy beer and watch TV :)

It seems to be really well done.
What are they using for encryption (.slak files)?
Just curious I am looking for something like that to prevent published game modding and help
keep hackers out of my games. (not anti mod just want to lock down a game).

What excites me is that I know TSE can make a game as good or better than this.It seems to be really well done.

I dont have this added to the art pipelines yet, but i'll do this sooner rather than later.
If you want to implement this on your own, it should be fairly easy for C++ programmers to do. (Even zipped with a password would work)
I'm not a C++ programmer, so I cant help you more than that :P

Fyi, for my t2d.net (C# wrapper) i added the feature of automatically encrypting your game DLL (because otherwise it is very easy to reverse-engineer .NET assemblies)I dont have this added to the art pipelines yet, but i'll do this sooner rather than later.

The recommended specs seem a bit high, and the movement of the character seems boaty. It feels like driving an old Caddy, it takes a fraction of a second to realize you've actually turned the wheel. If they fix that, and possibly turn down the difficulty just a notch, I'll definitely buy it.

Yea the shooting didn't seem as crisp as BF2. Yea I can't figure out how to deploy the mines..

IMO the game has come out WAY too late and kinda sucks. (looks good tho)

It's good to see a game like this come out.. because.. TSE can do a game like this....(graphics wise).

You hit your "use" key where the markers are in front of the base. It's insanely hard to get through the swarm after picking up the mines and battery. I only did it once after about 20 tries. Hopefully the difficulty will be tweaked.

even though it had quite a few plot holes, I think it did a pretty good job at capturing the ambience of the "hidden story" running behind the scenes.
of course, I expect this game to just be bug killing, nothing else.. but if a game could capture the feel of propaganda/indoctrination, that would be great.
