A friend of mine forwarded me this amusing blog from Kieron Gillen entitled "How To Use And Abuse The Gaming Press And How The Gaming Press Wants To Use and Abuse You". I highly recommend that any indie who is at least half serious about making a game that they wish to publish read the blog and take what he says to heart as it stands a good chance that what is said here will benefit you immensely.

I thought this was funny.Quote:If you want an easy ten percent extra marks for your game, make sure that the Print Screen button actually takes a screenshot.

Good article. Don't know if I agree with the whole indie game rock star thing, but the rest makes a lot of sense.

Interesting article but I wonder how many will put it into practice. Ive never had problems with the press (our parent company specializes in business development for software companies) because we make ourselves available - resources and face time - when they want it. Something not to forget are that there are differences in how UK press and USA press approach reviews/reporting.

That was an inspiring blog. Firstly because of the story of Introversion. Secondly that the UK games press gives a damn about the indies. A great read.Lobo the Duck
