Rick,

At least Dave Myers and I will be attending from 21-6 Productions. We arrive in the afternoon on the 20th and depart in the afternoon on the 24th. We would love to meet with the Garage Games team while we are there. Feel free to contact me and set up a meeting time.

I can't afford the plane ticket to San Jose, so if you can give me a discount on THAT I'd be glad to come. =D

I have no money at all =)
So, no GDC for me.

I'd like to go in the future but I don't know what the reaction would be to see a 13-year old there... so maybe next year... that is if my game sells and I get money to go!

We seriously considered a booth this year but in the end decided to just have meetings with Torque developers. We will announce meeting times and places as the conference grows closer.

Hope to see you there!

age restriction reads as follows
Quote:
Due to safety concerns, no one under the age of 18 (including infants in strollers) will be permitted on the show floor at any time during the Game Developers Conference.

Safety concerns? Hmmm...last time I checked 14 year olds can walk...

Well they probably mean getting mugged. In that case, I know some 14 year olds who are black belts in Tae Kwon Do, but that doesn't cover legal expenses. :)

I think they should let us in. We're the main audience of their games, by god!

And, I'm a YELLOW belt in Tae Kwon Do! HAH! :)

BTW, can anyone share an opinion on the worth of getting a Tutorials-Only pass as opposed to just the Expo pass?

Here is what I do. I buy an Expo pass and then buy the conference proceededings (around $100). The proceedings contain papers and slides from virtually all the lectures and seminars. The 2001 proceeding I purchased last year is 902 pages!

You can purchase old proceedings at Gamasutra.com
