by Archies · in Torque Game Engine · 04/01/2005 (9:28 am) · 4 replies

Hello Folks,

Purchased the SDK a few weeks ago now, very happy so far i must say, When i made my Purchase i got given a "Download Page Link" to download the TGE - 1.3, i downloaded this and have been working from it ever since.

I've spotted threads and bits and pieces about CVS download also ?, How would i go about downloading this CVS or is there no need to ? as i have the standard 1.3 download, sry but im a bit miffled and thought id better pop the question to you guys and ask for advice and direction.

Also 1.4 topics ive spotted ?, will this be a free upgrade for SDK owners of 1.3 and this i hear is on CVS so any help appreciated.

Thx,

1.4 is the beta release of that version to show people how things are turning out with the release. Since it's an early release, it's not necessarily a good idea to use it in your production environment. Here's the CVS documentation for getting 1.4.

But there's no reason to be miffed. It's not like GG is hiding anything from you or that you'll suddenly be required to pay for 1.4 when you just purchased it at version 1.3.

Download link == Current TGE stable release (1.3.1 right now)

CVS is available but I think GG want you to use the download link. Search the forums for instructions if you must use CVS. CVS head has 1.4 changes but the last I read it was unstable.

1.4 will be a free upgrade, just re-download when released.

There is really no need to use CVS anymore. CVS was causing problems for a large amount of newbies to TGE. So it also was causing alot of headaches for the GG staff.

1.4 is coming soon. It will be available for you to download since you are a TGE owner. You bought the license so you won't be paying extra for any updates for any foreseeable future. The only "upgrade" would be TSE which is an entirely different product anyway. I would just wait the week or so til it its available to you for download.
