I need a response from a GG employee verifying there is no scam.

First, I do not believe that GG will try to scam anybody but my parents are not as trusting.
I am highly paranoid and I rarely trust anyone (so it is odd I trust GG) but my parents just want to make sure I do not loose my hard earned money.
All I need is something saying there is no way my money will not be stolen (by GG) or a link to some sort of "Agreement" or the like that promises this is not a scam.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience but I have been waiting years (before I got a GG account) to get a hold of Torque and make a game.
Community Members, please do not yell at me for this, because I want to be a valued contributer to the Torque community.

I will hate Microsoft until they rule the world (I give them 20 years, 10 years till mind control).
Mostly what I hate about Microsoft is exactly what you said, they want to control everything and want all the money they can get!
I use Windows (my ancient HP can't run Linux but it can run HL2, what is wrong with that?). I really like Linux (great OS, doesn't crash all the time!) but unless open source can overthrow Microsoft, I will just have to use Windows.
I plan on actively supporting Windows (it is not like Microsoft will get any of the money).
I am kinda looking forward to see if "Google in ten years" actually happens, what a blow to Microsoft, lol.
So far, with only the Torque demo and playing around with it, I am enjoying TGE. Now with the source, I can "hack around" and see what I break first, lol.
Also, I am looking forward to the SSP (is that still planned or have I missed something?).

Hmm, "evil of Microsoft". Someone who thinks like me!
I take it TuxWars isn't done yet.

I agree with Gonzo. There will always be a Microsoft to hate. When I was starting out everyone was cursing IBM and their "big business" attitudes (showing my age here). Microsoft was at the time the heart of the upstart community fighting the beast and I stood firmly behind them.
Only time will tell how this round will end...

I especially liked this line from the "How to support linux" document posted by David:"Finally, keep in mind that we all have infinitely more important issues to deal with than the selection of a computing environment."

THis is my goal also, except I want to control everything, not just computers.
SNARF! What are we doing tonight Brain?
Sounds like good old fashioned jealousy. They are where we would all LOVE to be, they made it and are on "easy street" while we are still struggling. So lets hate them because they did what we havent and probably wont be able to do.
Makes just about as much sense as people asking an employee of a company if they are a scam or not.
Trust me, I am an employee of caribean land sales. I am not a scam. I have 2 acre lots in arizona for sale, $50 each. Honest, Ia m not scamming you. So send me the money and I will be sure to get back to you.

Hmm.... since I am employed at Microsoft and, therefore, technically, "funded" by Microsoft, I guess I'm on the hate list. Sigh... where's the love...

Mmm, did I hear an "Ooops" ?? ;-D

Well, I don't consider "funded" to be "paid".
Also, since you said you are an employee, could you do me a favor and keep me off the MS hit list for a couple of years?
Also, I was a bit vague when I said "I hate TV". To be more accurate, I should have said "I hate the commercial advertising that causes people to waste their money because they say it on the idiot box." (I watch tv, but once it is time for commercials, I'm gone!)

As far as I'm concerned, it's there house and we don't have to live in it if we don't like too.
But thats just me

Personally I love MS. I seldom have to put in insane hours trying to reinvent something that MS has already made for me. Sure not all MS stuff is the best. If it was, there wouldn't be any third party developers. As far as I'm concerned, it's there house and we don't have to live in it if we don't like too.

What did your parents decide? I see in your profile that you don't own Torque yet.

"Well, they are classic "Americans" (no offense) and believe what they see on TV."
For the most part, I'm a classic as well, but I learned long ago that a story is usually good because the reporter is sensationalizing to make it more than it is. A simple rule of thumb is, when studying a news event that matters to you, get as many views as you can to figure out what they all agree on and then toss out all the stuff that none of them agree on and what you have left is the truth. A simple example would be...
A plane crashes, and four news stories show the dead like so....
plane crashes 220 dead
up to 250 believed dead in plane crash
crashed plane holds as many as 300 passengers
crash kills over 250 people
What do they all agree on? That most likely at least 220 people are dead and possibly more. Nobody will know for sure till the passenger list is checked and the bodies are counted.
A house in my neighborhood exploded due to a gas leak. An 83 year old lady living alone was cold and went to light the heater and BOOOM! Blown up. The Meth Task Force showed up and in 5 minutes they reported that there was not one single indication that any meth was being produced in the residence and that the explosion was caused by nothing more than a bad gas leak. I heard that right out of the spokesmans mouth. That STILL didn't stop the local news stations from reporting for the next 48 hours that it was still unclear as to weather or not Meth was involved. It was pretty damn clear to me, not sure what part of NO METH HERE that they didn't understand.
BTW, might as well let go of your Microsoft hate, they power so much of our lives that you can forget about them going away for another 20 years at least. Nothing wrong with taking a stand against them, but don't spend your life hating them and hating yourself when you need them, lol. Besides, most people only hate them because they are the best at doing what other buisness' have done since the day buisness started, which is to be #1 at all costs. Untill Microsoft is the only company left that's breaking rules and breaking laws, I pretty much just despise the whole corporation concept instead.
Tell your parents it's time to caugh it up, lol. I'm betting you're going to love TGE.
