Whats the Plan?

I am not trying to pry to much I am just curious if this tool is finished or will we see more features in the future. I only have one suggestion because I am so impressed with TST. But if you do get around to adding any features do you think you could add in a particle veiwer. So that we could attach particles to nodes and get rough idea of what its going to look like.

Other than that GREAT JOB!!

Greetings!

As with most software, TST Pro may never truly be "finished". There's always that next feature to add in. Usually all you can do is decide where the feature cutoff is for the current version -- and even that can be hard to do at times. :o)

I'd like to continue adding to TST Pro, and the idea of being able to at least view an attached particle system has come up before. I can't promise anything right now, but it is on my ever growing "TO DO" list. :o)

No worries I was more curious than anything. Maybe if alot requests are comin in you could set up some plugin architecture so people can make their own mods. Who know might save you some work.

Thanks

Are there any plans for implementing Normal map support for use with TSE?

An editor plug-in system is on the way for Torque in general, and we'll see whether it makes sense for TST Pro.

As for additional features in TST Pro itself, having more ideas for potential features to add can't hurt. But TST Pro already does an excellent job and makes a big piece of the art pipe much nicer. We're all very happy with TST Pro's featureset. We would like to make the rest of the art pipeline as slick as this.

So, the general plan with TST Pro dev is that we'll work with Dave to address any bugs that come up as soon as we encounter them (though I don't think we'll find many at all), and we'll continue collecting ideas for more features in the future. Still, our immediate development focus will be placed on other parts of the art pipeline, and we look forward to working with Dave on those projects.

That should be a very, very good thing for everyone to hear. :) If the rest of the Torque art pipeline gets the same kind of ease of use and quality that TST Pro brings, Torque engines will quickly become the most artist-friendly around. Which would mean that all us indies will have an art tool chain that rivals the big guys'. That's an exciting thought.

Feel free to keep the ideas coming for TST Pro features though, we'll definitely take note. TST Pro will continue to grow over time, but we'll be focusing immediate development on other areas in the art pipe that'll greatly benefit from the same kind of attention Dave brought to the DTS inspection and fine-tuning process. As for TSE-specific aspects of the art pipe, we of course plan to address those as soon as possible as well, and you'll be hearing more about it in the future. :)
