Internet connection required?

My internet cable connection went out last night and I noticed I can't play any torque demo games on a lan.
What code or settings need changed to make this a lan only game if required?

Local network must be working as in I coppied all the test programs over from one computer to the other (using my working network) then tried to run each one on both boxes and none of them would run until the internet connection worked?

Yes the network is intact and working. 5 testprograms would not launch on either computer. I select host and hit the enter game button and the program freezes up. Last entries in the console file are off in server code someplace.
You say it should just work?

I dont make any changes in the engine code.
It takes little longer for the server to launch only compared if i connect to the master.
Wait a little longer , I hope thats working :)

I'm able to run the example games offline by selecting "Start Mission" (not "Join Server") and leaving the "Host Multiplayer" option blank.
