Milkshape 3D Issues with custom models and Torque dts Plus export

Dear Torque game developers,

I have used Milkshape 3D to make some custom elven models. It all looks well in MS3D and the animations work well in MS3D as well. Now when I used the stock Torque dts plus exporter that came with the newest Milkshape 3D I got a modle turned upside down when the animations would play and when in T pose the model would be looking fine(as long as no animations were playing).

I then tried to use the newest Torque dts Plus exporter and I got that part of the model was visible(sword and bow but not the body) and still upside down when playing the animations... Now I have tried everything I could think about here and I just cannot find out what the issue is. I have tried this:

export with/without animations
remove/add the number behind each group
export a .dae file instead(works perfectly fine but no animations as MS3D seems to not support that)

I used a milkshape 3D file that came with the models I bought from 3drt and I then changed some stuff in milkshape3D(like removing armor etc.)

Now as I wrote before it works fine in MS3D just not after I export it with the Torque dts plus exporter and test it in Torque 3D MIT 2.0

Any suggestions or help will improve your karma and receive great gratitude from me who is about to pull all my hair out of the head due to the frustration I am feeling at this very moment :o)

Or more precisely: Please help "Obi Torque Society Wan, you are my only hope" :o)

Best,

Dwarf King

Hi Unlisted,

Thanks for your kind reply and great suggestions. Unfortunately due to some strict license issue I cannot upload the .ms3d file so you can see it at this time :o(

W.r.t the LOD all three groups are set to 0 and I have even tried to set them to 1. Nothing works out.

Right now I think my best shot is to read the Torque dts plus exporter's user guide from 3DGPAIO third edition and the ms2dtsPlus html file through and hope for the best...

Of course all suggestions like the one from Unlisted above are welcome as that could actually had been the problem as I did find some threads mentioning this issue too... I think I have read at least 30 plus threads so far O_o

Well Milkshape 3D has been utterly gutterly fired(what a shame as it seemed so potential). I managed to take a blender file, modify it, assign texture, export the blender file to collada with animations and it works flawless in Torque 3D MIT 2.0.

Damn I love Blender 2.67a for its collada export(but I hate the collada importer as it sucks big time...)

I searched all over for the new(est) Milkshape DTS exporter, the original link site seems to have gone unless i'm missing something, the artists page of the documetation area seems to only have the 2.7.3 version, somebody update or correct me if that is not the case.

Anyway here is a link to that later version, just to see if you have more joy with that, i still swear by this exporter as being the best, generally i use fragmotion to convert to ms3d, i know this is an older tool and exporter but i have had so few problems with it i stick with it
