Still confused on 1.2

by Kyle Brechin · in Torque 3D Beginner · 05/26/2012 (1:39 pm) · 7 replies

I've had TGE, TGEA, and T3D Pro. I've noticed there's a 1.2 patch for 1.1.

I've also seen people going to "my studio" to get their upgrade version.

I'm still lost to the process in which I need to get my 1.2 upgrade.

It should be in your account with your other engines.

It's not in there. I have the option to download T3D 1.1, the 1.2 patch which I'm unsure how to use, I don't even have TGE and TGEA available under older versions which kind of annoys me.

The 1.2 patch was free to all Torque 3D owners. The actual 1.2 upgrade must be purchased. With that you get additional content, in addition to those fixes in the 1.2 patch. You can go to the Torque 3D product page and complete the upgrade process there.

So I'm paying to upgrade an engine I bought for a grand? That's bullshit. We should be able to get the upgrade for free.

@Kyle, the engine you bought is still the same.
Behind the upgrade lies hours, days and months of work if you don't need the update you are free to not pay for it if you don't find it worth it. It is not bullshit in anw, if anything it would be bullshit that you are complaining about GarageGames not giving you free stuff.

They're giving you the bugfix upgrade for free. The additional features of 1.2 aren't free.

Just merge in the patch if you do not need the features for 1.2.
