iTorque2D - What are your working on thread?

by James Tadeo · in iTorque 2D · 11/02/2011 (9:00 am) · 10 replies

Since cracking open iTorque 2D 1.5 I've been working on tutorials and getting a good sense of its workings.

If you're working on anything whether it's a tutorial, a resource, a product or anything please post it here. It would be great to see what the community is up to these days. It may also start up collaborations.

For me, I am working on a shooter game that will help me to get a grasp of the workflow for the new version of iTorque 2D 1.5.

What are you working on?

Hi James,

We are working on our next game called Cannibal Cookout. We expect to release in the next six weeks or so.

There is an early draft trailer here:

We also have a Facebook page:

Great to see the posts so far. I hope this becomes an inspirational thread as well so others can see how much can be accomplished with iTorque2D.

@Scott Wilson-Biling, Cannibal Cookout looks amazing :D Lots of production value with that one and I am looking forward to see it shipped.

Thanks James, the whole team have worked really hard, now we are just fixing bugs and desparately trying to solve memory issues, mostly with iPad 1.

I'm currently working on a little personal project to familiarize myself with iTorque development.

It's a basic spy game that will closely resemble playing a board game.

I'm also only doing it for 4-5 hours a weekend since I'm also working on a personal website and spend way too much time at my actual job building websites.

After a month, I'll probably post about my progress and "how much you can get done in iTorque in 20 hours"

I'm working together with 2 artists on our first game in iTorque. I'll post a gameplay video/screenshots when we're a little further on the way.

@James - Cool Thread

@Scott - You game looks amazing. Can't wait to try it on the iPad. How did you do the screen capture?

We're working on our 3rd title "Syndicate Space". We would love to post some video but are having a hard time finding a low cost solution for video screen capture. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I picked up Torque back in 2005 and have started up again with it and needed a refresher course for Torque script. After going through some books I had purchased back in 2006/7, the GG site, the Web and even my own tutorial notes I found a tutorial series by Kevin O'Flaherty. So far it's a really solid guide. It cuts away at the fat and gives you the info you need to get something going.

I am on a budget so I contacted Kevin about getting a discount on all the tutorials. He replied back with this:

40$ Making Indie Games Packages
Sync Reloaded and Hands on Coding Guide
Torque Script Interactive Tutorial
Reflection Grid

It's on for two weeks and I think it's a bargain. What I really like is so far I am getting the answers using the search feature in the PDF vs. searching on the GG site and getting hundreds of links that may not even have the answer I need.

Anyway, I've been working on my own files and really getting to love this little engine. If I can get to the art, I hope to post those for people to see etc.
