Sound popping and cracking issues
by Richard Skala · in iTorque 2D · 06/01/2011 (6:47 pm) · 5 replies
I often hear some popping and cracking in the sounds when I play them. I generally hear it when I have to start and stop a lot of instances of the same sound. How can I prevent the popping and cracking?

Can you see your soundwave? does it "clip"? meaning, does it go past the highest levels possible? A good first question is, does this play well in a non Torque platform? Just so you know, I have never experienced that problem.

What do you mean "see the soundwave"? How can you see it?

Open it with a wave editor like Goldwave.

Then look at the wave form. if it goes above the max line, then it is clipping, meaning you are going to get digital static, a pop. Best way to know if it is a source audio problem or a Torque problem tho is, does the sound clip when it is played outside of Torque?
