T3D studio license and the current license sale

I am hoping someone at GG can answer this one pretty quickly. Those of us that own a T3D studio license, if we purchased another T3D license during the sale would that be added to our studio seats automatically?
If so this would be a good time to take advantage of the sale.

The last I was told is that purchasing new licenses under the studio system will not continue. If you track down any of Erik's posts on the site, you can see what he has said on the matter. I think he commented on it as recently as yesterday, but I can't remember where.

also again i believe the studio licecne (even when aimed at small indi companies) is a great selling point i do believe your sales figured will take a blow if its overlooked or left out.
p.s absolutely loving that GG is back WAY TO GO !!
p.p.s How would i go about getting the sub title under my name ?

I also have to agree with the other memebers here about keeping the studio licence, as my self im apart of a newly forming game develoopment company that currently only has 5 members, we all would rather purchase a studio licene + seats with the option to add more when needed rather tha individual licences for our current and any future members of our team we may add.also again i believe the studio licecne (even when aimed at small indi companies) is a great selling point i do believe your sales figured will take a blow if its overlooked or left out.

I have people that will help me for free during short period, I don't expect them to buy the license to help me, even if th new price is far far accessible than previous one.
A good deal could be to ask 20$ additional to transform license to seat license (like the first offer).
I have a studio license, and now an "individual" license, so I won't be able to have more than 1 help at a time.
I hope you will listen the community and come back to us with a solution. I'm sure there is some financial aspect behind this decision... but is it worth it?

I'm in the same situation. If I can't buy studio license, I won't buy them at all.I have people that will help me for free during short period, I don't expect them to buy the license to help me, even if th new price is far far accessible than previous one.

and allowing a studio licence for "independent" small companies is still going back to your Indi roots ;¬)

Just wanted to add that Indi dosnet just have to mean Individuals it casn also stand for "Independant" (that what me and the rest of my team thought the tearm "Inidi" referd to before we purchaced.)and allowing a studio licence for "independent" small companies is still going back to your Indi roots ;¬)

I currently have some digital arts students that want to help me on my project but I don't want to give them $100 each in the hopes that they come through. My experience in life has been that people can be flaky especially when they don't have the same investment in something as I do. And it was also my understanding that indie meant "Independent" as well.
Please do not drop support for studio licensing!

Michael, it looks like the last thing Erik said that I could find is that he would talk to Eric about it.I currently have some digital arts students that want to help me on my project but I don't want to give them $100 each in the hopes that they come through. I think the love for studio licensing is something they are at least starting to become aware of :)

And as Steve pointed out... I really like that extra line of text under my forum name :)

Glad I stumbled upon this thread this morning, before I went ahead and solved my question of some time ago about allowing someone to use my TGE license under the studio arrangement (I was told no at the time and abided by it)--was giving serious thought to buying one of the discounted T3Ds for my nephew but I would of course want it under the studio license. And as Steve pointed out... I really like that extra line of text under my forum name :)

I agree that this does need some thought, else you are shooting yourself in the foot.. I'm sure that Erik/Eric would also agree that creating extra sales is more beneficial to GG than not at all. Not without annoying a whole batch of studio license holders.
The difference is that there is a single Indie (doesn't grow beyond 1 seat), and there is an Indie studio (grows beyond 1 seat for full time and contracted staff), so you have to cater for both - otherwise you are pushing studios aside, and any new studio coming to GG to buy several licences for hot-desking staff will just see that its not possible and seek an alternative solution that is. Not every indie studio is funded with money to burn and helping small studios to expand will mean extra revenue and commercial licenses (if you are still doing these?).
I'd much prefer a licensing solution that is based on per desktop with only one person using it at any given time. This way you wouldn't need Individual or Studio licensing - just one standard license to cater for all.
At the end of the day it's down to you (GG) to make the right choices, we're just giving you our feedback.
