The last CC version was pulled for quality reasons. I haven't heard anything about the new one going to CC yet.

I'm also waiting for this version. I bought a new pc and want to go continue developing my project but I can't download any version anymore.

Please can someone give us an answer...

@Johan you can download the demo version. It's the same binary version as the cc version.

But after 30 days, can I still use this version?
Can I use my key for this version?

does the demo have all the features and tools included?

@Adam You cant purchase the platformer kit with the demo.

I also have a XNA premium membership - I would like to get my hands on the platformer kit, but the shopping cart wont take my money :-( It says I need to have XNA CC version or the paid version, and since the CC version was pulled, I'm SOL without forking out $300?

It's fine, I can save up my pennies, just a little bummed, specially when other people were able to get it for free.

So I can't use my platformer kit anymore?

I hope this is a mistake, otherwise I want my money back for a tool I can't use.

Is it sure that the CC version will not be continued?

Please answer, I now don't know what to do...

From www.torquepowered.com/community/blogs/view/19831

Quote:ome of you may have recently noticed that Torque X is listed as "Currently Unavailable" on the XNA Creator's Club site. We made the call to take it down because the quality wasn't there. Once 3.1.5 releases it will be available again through your Creator's Club membership.

Though I think I read recently it was being discussed. If it's still going to come, Microsoft took forever to ok the last one, so it may be a while.

@Mohammad: I don't think so, but you can send an email to licensing@torquepowered.com to have a more official answer about that.

@Everyone!
As of right now, Torque X is on sale (if my sources are correct) and the $200 will go up to $300 in a few days, so if you have pants full of ants like mine and dont want to wait till day $x=?, you might want to think about making a small investment now!

I'm guessing 8/20/2010 will be the last day of the sale, the blog is not specific to what license is on sale, but I'm assuming they are both on sale, meaning the $300 transferable will also be going up in price.

Is there any reason why one would want to transfer a license other then no longer wanting be in this industry? I'm just confused to why I would want to pay extra to buy a transferable license.

@Everyone!
I just got an email back from David at support
Quote:The platformer kit has only been available to source licensees from our site. I believe that it includes a number of source code changes to the core engine, which requires source access so the CC version (which is binary only) is not applicable.

If one has a studio, or hires help it helps as you don't have to buy new licenses every time your staff changes. If you buy a nontransferable one, then when your level designer leaves, he leaves with the license.

At one point in time, it was available to CC members, I bought it then. The version I'm looking at does not change anything in the core engine. It does not require source access.

EDIT: Apparently the newest one requires source access. They used to not. I am wrong.

After spending a whole researching, I have come to the conclusion that torque x is the product for me, and I will be buying it tomorrow, I am also going to buy the platfomer starter kit, just a little question, does the psk have a save feature to save the game? If not then I will have to make my own save feature. Other than that, it's all looking good, :)

Just an update. We will be taking care of the CC members here shortly. Just got to hang tight a little longer.

Also, David was a little mistaken. The platformer kit is currently available to previous CC members and new CC members will have access to it as well. It is not a source code only product.

@Derek

I bought the software earlier today because of the sale and David's email. Is there any advantage of the paid version over the cc version?

@Aaron - You get access to Torque X source code. This allows you to join our forums with other source code licensees who have already produced a ton of fixes, optimizations and cool tech that you can integrate with your version. You can produce your own optimizations and enhancements as well that are geared toward making the engine run better for your games. You also get the ability to integrate 3rd party solutions like physics libraries and other middleware.

@Derek - The most recent PSK I downloaded to check included the source code to the engine(I'm a CC member, so that's a nono), thats why I edited to correct myself earlier.
