The Complete Guide to Torque X

I did a search on the internet looking for this book and I notice it's a 2008 version.

Is there a more recent version and how relative is this 2008 version compared to the current release. And, I assuming the current release is still the 2009 version right?

And another question is, is there more than one version and if so which one should I be purchaing?

You mean the one written by John K, correct?

Yes, I'm about to purchase it, but I'm concern it will have no relevance to the TX3D 2009 version. Is there a updates version and if not will this book cover everything for TX3D and TX2D 2009?

I would say it will help. It never covered everything in the old TX so no it will not cover everything in TX2009 (why isn't it TX2010?). But it will give you a good start.

Argh! I bought a used one from Barnes & Nobles. It cost me $41.45. I hope it at lease helps in getting a simple 3D game with a animated player walking around!

I just need to get that far, because I don't understand why a 3D tutorial was not included with the doc's. It almost seems it was purposely done this way to force book sales.

And, if this book doesn't show me how to create a 3D game I'm going to be HIGHLY UPSET! I'm already frustrated. It has been over a year and I have not created a 3D game because I'm waiting for proper documentation on the 3D side of TX.

I don't mind supporting "Instant Action" (formally GG), but there not giving ME much of a chance to be successful with their products.

2D games is fine and it seems this is what their only pushing, but my game format is 3D games.

So, forgive for venting out like this, because I really like this product. BUT, not being able to get started is bring to my wits end!

Take a look at this code I wrote to get started.

The 3D stuff in the book is a bit over simplified.
