Looking for Torque Training

by Marek Krzeminski · in Torque 3D Beginner · 10/21/2009 (7:36 am) · 3 replies

Does anyone know of a place that offers lessons in the Torque Game Engine? A friend of mine and me are wanting to make an online FPS game but neither of us are very proficient with the Torque Engine.

We specifically chose to use Torque 3D because is supports 256 players which is what we need for our game.

I'm looking for either video tutorials, or online college courses that will teach us how to use the Torque engine.

Garagegames's price for training starts at $9,900 which is out of our budget.

hi, ive bought the book and it really offers some basic information about the TGE. for me as newbie on the torque engine it was more confusing than useful in the beginning. the best is to start with the tutorials and then start reading the book.

I already own the game programmer's guide to torque but I didn't find it very useful. It is more of a reference manual that describes what functions and classes are available in the Torque engine. The last Chapter (which is less than 30 pages) was the most useful to me out of the whole book. I would like a detailed guide on how to create a XXX type of game using Torque.
