Plan for Thomas Tong

Cratered is coming along nicely. I'm finally finished the networked ship movement and networked weapons.

It took a lot longer than antipcipated to get to run smoothly over the internet while keeping the protocol secure, but I think we have a good balance between security and playability. It's isn't optimized yet but it's smooth, and even more so when the server is on a separate machine. We can't wait to be able to blow each other up. I wish I had more time to spend on graphics and effects but all the time focused on the game architecture and underlying systems has paid off and has allowed me me to continue on a steady pace. On to environmental objects and a general collision system!

On the art front, it sure is hard to find a good modeler/artist. It's no wonder that most independent titles looks so crappy. You'd think people who are talented, have time, and are willing to work for a game credit would be easier to find. :) So far most candiates have been all talk and very little action.

The next planned milestone is for a death-match style playable.

Interesting project, seems to comeing along well. Good luck on the artist front though, it is near to impossible to find good talent these days. My suggestion would be to scourge the mod scene, there are a lot of modelers working on CS addons that are starting to get tired of it.
