Plan for Axel Cushing

I'll keep this short, to start. Four years ago, I conceived of a game idea, which I tentatively titled "Vigilis." Suffice it to say, the project fell apart. The reasons why don't matter. The strange thing is that the idea is still burning clear in the back, small but clean. Getting back up to the bonfire size that it once was may be impossible, but it will be built back up. It will probably take a while, and it will probably undergo some radical rethinking, but it will be built. It's one of those ideas that's too good to leave totally undeveloped.
However, what may ultimately help its development is a second, somewhat more modest game idea, which I have chosen to call "Isle of Blades" for the time being. Whereas "Vigilis" was envisaged as a freeform epic, "Isle of Blades" is more along the lines of "Soul Calibur" crossed with "The Guardian Legend." Hordes of enemies, memorable heroes and villains, weird weapons, devastating special moves, over-the-top special effects, the works. This one is going to be a bit more attainable since it can be more easily defined than "Vigilis" was, though perhaps the definition techniques from this new title can help in the redesign of the old one. We'll see.
That's all for me for now. Keep your eyes peeled. I may be hiring soon.
