Plan for Tyler Frans

Oh boy, where to begin.

I've spent the past months getting to know Milkshape and its inner workings. 2D art has always been my greatest passion and I've only tinkered in 3D. So this was a big step for me and something I've always wanted to do. I've been given the chance to learn it due to TSRR being on hold most of the summer.

Now that we've restarted development I've been working on my first ever 3D model. I'm nearing its completion (the Cletus character model). I've been trying to capture the near-cartoony feel I've been wanting for this game and I think it's working. It weighs in at 432 polys with a 256x256 texture. Animation will be the next task.

We're aiming at low models because there's currently no support for LOD in the MS exporter. Initially we're targeting lower end systems as well, but we'll see where it goes. We definitely want thick forests and believable agriculture areas (Melv's fx work comes to mind) so if we have to bump it up a bit to achieve that, then so be it.

I've just recently tasked Emp with fixing the sort function for the MS exporter so we can finally have decent trees and bushes. The origami look of the foilage is driving me nuts. :) So he's hard at work on that.

Let's see what else... Zear and myself will be attending IGC. We're both looking forward to it. Plus it's just across town so we don't have much of an excuse not to attend. Heh. Got my ticket, beer and kitchen pass so I'm all set. May need to pick up some bubba teeth though. :)

Other than that just mildewing to keep from molding. Looking forward to seeing you all at IGC. :)
