Tick Off Another Box, Igor

Internet service is down at home this morning, and while casting about for something to do besides work on the game, I thought I'd post an update here. Finally got the sunsets working, repeatably and reliably, this weekend, so I even have a picture to share.

Took me a long time to get that working, but I think I finally have the long shadows of evening nailed and a properly lurid wash of color (Still probably the world's worst texture artist though!)

I'm kind of at a scary point in development, I opened up an old end goals list from six months ago and found everything on it could be checked off at this point. Endless months of grind have led me only to expect further endless months of grind, and nearing some kind of working state is unnerving.

If that doesn't work, you might be getting caught in my firewall--I see 37 successful hits for that graphic in the web server log today, but the firewall is ahead of that so I don't see what it catches, or rather can't tell if what it catches is actually legitimate--if you happen to know your IP block I will check.

"...and nearing some kind of working state is unnerving." -- I hear you man.

I was the same way once I had finished the solid foundation and then realised the next steps were different game modes and maps. So I know the feeling.

Good luck with your project, look forward to seeing where it gets. 8-}

p.s. The pic loads for me too, sorry Steve. 8-{

Does not!

I've been waiting for that pic for days! :P Did you block me and Steve's IP's?

Link times out. In fact I can't connect to your site at all.

I don't think your firewall likes Europoors ... probably heard that we're full of terrorists. ;)

Same here. I could only get to your website by seeing a cached version.

Your site is taking like forever to load. I have even tried to see it months ago and that was the same.

You need to talk with your host ;o)

I pulled the firewall logs this morning and went through the ruleset comparing denials since I put the picture up. Then I pulled mistakes I'd made in the allow/deny configuration out and reset the whole thing.

Hopefully it's better now, I had mangled a bunch of European subnets pretty badly. Also parts of Illinois and Nebraska somehow.

@Quinton Delpeche, I like making worlds and maps. I can't really conceptualize the gears all meshing as they are assembled.

@Dwarf King, Somebody wasted space caching my site? Wow. I am my host, so if it's broken I broke it and have to figure out how to fix it. Would like to know if it works for you now.

@Steve, I hope it works for you now. Sorry it has been so much trouble.

Yay! I'm always happy to fix things, I just need somebody to report it so I know to look. I'm glad it is working for you now-the web site should be visible now too. Thanks for posting that it works :)
