A first go at making a zombie shooting game

So after my little Xmas shopping spree on Torque3D related stuffs and a long time spent in the FPS tutorial i took the empty project and started laying the pieces for a small zombie related game.
I'm not quite sure of the gameplay, i assume it will be something like a co-op game where you shoot zombies and try to stay alive or somemthing like this, but it could become something entirely different; the goal for me is to get going on completing a small torque project, and that could be anything as long as it's moderately fun and that it's good enough to put in my portfolio.
Back during the halloween period Garagegames had pictures of a gloomy cemetary they made with the Graveyard art pack, and i figured that I would like to have a go at doing something like this.
This is what came out of the first attempt:

It's bad in so many ways:
-The grass is Z fighting like mad.
-It turns out that i can't seems to get lighting or shadows from the moon with a scattersky.
-I will have to find some ways to add more light to the scene, with lamps or something.
-I have lots of trouble to make the terrain do what i want it to do with the provided tools, i guess either i will have to use world machine/L3DT or i will have to learn how to use the brushes better.
-My terrain was way too big.
The second attempt got a little better but we aren't there yet:

-The mausoleum adds a nice "focus point" to the whole area
-The distance fog creates an eerie feel with the hills
-I still had to raise my terrain on the horizon line to hide where the scattersky ends, is there a way to get it to wrap fully the scene?
-I got better grass thanks to This video from BuddyDoQ which explaind me what i was doing wrong.
-The scene is still too dark and without shadowing, you can hardly see the paths i traced and the dirt in front of each gravestones.
Same scene without the night:

Also I'd suggest "web friendly sizing" on your image, I always try to stick to under 250k for speed.

Check markupLite for how to insert an image, the tags are:[image width=xxx height=xxx]your/url/here.jpg[/image]

Make sure to let us know when you make more progress. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

It seems like on the second shot you have too much light. Maybe go darker and contrast everything with moonlight or lighting the lamps.
Also, get rid of the light in the mausoleum unless there is a source. Then put some cat eyes or something in there!
