Be My Boss...For A Day
When designing Torque 3D 1.2, it was one of our goals to build the best beginning-to-end tutorial that the industry has ever seen. Ultimately, you'll be the judge, but I think you will agree that the team has met that challenge. Kudos everyone! I can't wait for the launch, but first, we need to get the word out that we've built something great!

We need a great promotion...drum roll...Be My Boss! Read on...

Here is the basic idea: for one work day, part of our team will be part of your team. We will be available via Skype at your beck and call.

    Here’s Your Team:
  • Eric Preisz – CEO/Programmer
  • Dave Wyand- T3D Lead Programmer
  • Derek Bronson- T3D 1.2 Producer
  • Michael Perry- Lead Programmer
  • GG Artist- To be determined by your need
  • David Montgomery-Blake- Marketing/scripting

What will we do for you? Almost anything -it depends on your needs. Please review this guide below for a list of appropriate and inappropriate tasks:
The Backstory...
On November 11th, 2010, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...
Ba da dah da..du da duhh...

  Appropriate Tasks
Work on a game design document
Fix a critical bug
Work on your game
Optimize your game
Review your resume
Help you pick a game development college
Review your code
Game jam
Port your game to Torque (my personal favorite)
Train your employees
Inappropriate Tasks
We won’t do your homework
We won’t do anything illegal
We won’t drop GG prices
We won't hurt animals

So How Can You Win?
When Torque 3D releases, we will give you a phrase to tweet. After a week, we will pick a winner at random from those who tweeted during the message. One entry per person please. The winner and I will have an initial consultation and JD(a project manager) will build us a schedule. After that, we pick a date. Easy right? All you need to remember is that this contest is void where prohibited (sorry Rhode Island) and there is no purchase necessary(sorry GG).

That's an interesting promotion. Almost makes me want to do the unthinkable; create a Twitter account ;)

@Gerald: Join us…the world needs to know when and how you use the bathroom!

Interesting promotion. Especially since it reveals your opinion on Rhode Island :P

That's cool, I've been thinking about porting "Nightmare House 2" or "UnderHell" to Torque3D.

I'll tweet just to support the team

Don't expect to win and even if i did would be an assle just because of the difference in timezones. And am not currently using T3D on any project - just tgb for now.

Great idea though

Why is there a gun just below the "We won't hurt animals", I don't trust you guys.

Twitter is web-based - no need to install anything for PC. Or you can use the mobile app best suited to your preferred mobile device if available. Or you can use a PC at the library to access Twitter just for this promotion. And no one says the Twitter account has to remain active after the promo is over.

Can we get a lawyer to cover this part in the disclaimers section? ;p

My own limitations, just in case:

* I don't do windows (the fixture, not the platform).
* I will not name my first born after you.
* Ordering the physical abuse of another GG member is not acceptable, unless it's Joe.
* If you ask for a puppy shader, I will likely stare off into space and start drooling.

Awww, you guys are no fun ...

So, who's up for a Make My Game Button or an MMO?

Raising a hand to the sky:

- TWITTER will collapse beneath my spam!!!! My minions, prepare for a holy crusade for web based resource streaming!

Evil laugh fades out slowly...

If I win, can I refer to you as my minions? :)
Btw, I don't worry about timezones. Neither should you. You leave early at least. :)

Great promo! :) Very unorthodox! I wonder why nobody mentioned the wetness shader yet. :)

@Ray -It came to us on a tablet from Mountain Deusius and Nodozeian, the gods of caffeinated beverages and lack of sleep.

Quote:Awesome, just tweeted and wait
@Jean-louis -Yep, we'll give you the phrase in the launch blog.

Quote:If I win, can I refer to you as my minions?
@Konrad -Of course, how else do you motivate people? ;)
