Age of Decadence - Choices and Consequences

by ITS_Nick · 01/20/2011 (1:34 am) · 5 comments

Hello again, ladies and gentlemen. Here I am with another video from our upcoming title, Age of Decadence. A lot of people who saw that combat scene from my previous blog entry may wonder: what was happening there? Why was it happening? Why our precious playable character had to avoid sharp metal objects pointed at him, risking his life? Could that be avoided? These and many other questions are answered by Oscar, our lead artist and member of this community.
If you're not into RPGs much, you may still want to check out some neat locations we've built on T3D =)

Hope you all enjoyed it, and thanks for watching!

That does look really interesting ... and those are "neat" locations. Great modeling infact.

Thanks, guys.
Let's see what new opportunities T3D gives us in the nearest future. I already imagine Oscar adding more layers of prettiness using new tools -> new GroundCover alone added so much to our levels.

Interesting, it's the kind of game I really like to play.
I am wondering something though; Does the game play change based on what you decide to do ( or not do ) through out the game, so that the ending is different based on your decisions?

It does seem there is some consequences but curious about how deep those consequences go.

If it works the way Dragon Age story line does, ( minus the lip sync ) then I am sold already !

Yep, as a matter of fact there are heavily distinct paths to go through the game, depending on which faction you are involved with. For example, here you are playing with the Assassins Guild, and you are involved in the assassination of the commander. If you had joined the Merchants Guild, you should find out the plans to take over the town, and find evidence so that the towns ruler orders the hit on the commander.

There are five different and exclusive questlines in the first town in the game, so you can replay the game many times and see new content in each of them.

And yeah, there are lots of endings depending on your decisions :)

How deep does the rabbit hole goes? ;)

Very deep, choices and consequences are the main feature of the game, along with turn-based combat, and skill based checks.
