Today, InstantAction informed employees that it will be winding down operations. While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.

Umm whattt? Really guys? Well that's not so good for us who planned on using the engines. How much do they want for Torque? Or they could be nice and open source it for us =)

I reckon unemployed people have other things to worry about than character limits ...

Sad to see this happen, good luck to all those in limbo right now! If any 2d artists from GG want to chat about Monaco, send me an email with a portfolio link.

Best of luck to everyone involved, both as users and operators.

If anyone has plans for a "fan" operated TGE/A/T3D users group, count me in. You can find me at...

@James - No clue. I'm not a web dev and I'm not at the office any longer.

To be quite honest, i don't care about the products i own anymore, I feel really bad for the GG guys, who have to look for new jobs, my deepest regrets. This is truly a dark day. I hope you guys all the success in the future.

What can I say but that I am extremely sorry to hear about this news. You guys are how I got my foot in the door in the game industry! Your game engine rocks, and this community is incredible. I am very sad to see it all going up in smoke. I also give my condolences to those losing their jobs. I hope to hear that you all have found a new position at something like Unity or some other major studio very soon!

I have been around since 2004 and seen many good changes around GG over the years. I really hope someone take over the engines soon and keep the community alive.

To GG people, my sincere condolences and thank you for all your support and sweat during all these years. I really appreciate your efforts, support, and replies at nights, weekends, and holidays.....

All I can say is yikes about this. Been a member for years and been poking at the engine for that long.

Defiantly wasn't expecting that as I logged in to check the blogs. Sad to see it go and I really hope someone picks it up so that our purchase of your engines don't go to waste ... I almost purchased T2D pro yesterday, that was close! You guys did a great job while it lasted.

Such sad, sad news. I really loved GG/TP and I hope the best for Torque and all of the employees that made it come alive.

Even after the company is gone, can we still download the installers for our game engines? Or should we download and save the installers and save the source code ourselves?

It's sad to hear indeed but I also have to say I'm not surprised either, I was literally watching the Unity unite 2010 sessions (and thinking of the past free release of Unreal engine) and thinking to myself how does torque compete with all this.

I then decided to checkout the site for any indication of a response to all these market changes and then boom, I find this.

Very sad, but also unsurprising news indeed.

Well, Guess that pretty looking South Pacific demo and the binary version are gonna be put 'on hold' indefinitely :( GL to all in finding profitable work, I know it means uncertainty for your futures. I have been 'semi-retired' for 4 years now.. since the housing industy (my primary career) went down the drain and made it hard to keep things going. But at the end of the day it all works out :)

Many a long day and countless nights did I spend with Torque, mastering its secrets and learning about game development from scratch. It opened so many doors for me and I work at Turbine Games today because of that. I wouldn't be there without Torque and GG. I admit this is sad news.
