Entries from 6/25 - 7/9
Yup, I was gone for Fourth of July weekend, up in the lovely mountains of Pennsylvania. So, lotsa catching up to do...
Journal Land Pick of the Week
/* Why you crying? */ - Well here's something a little different, as JTippetts goes through his experience with using Sculptris to draw a 3D character as he begins to practice 3D modeling. This looks like something that's fun to play with
Project Updates
* Journal of Aardvajk - Aardvajk has put some more time into Squishy, giving a brief overview of how he produced "cool effects using additive blending over light backgrounds"
* Journal of dbaumgart - dbaumgart looks at some of the art and design behind the tilesets for Dungeons of Dredmor
* Digitanks Development Journal - BSVino consults the history of warfare to learn more about how tanks became valuable in battles, and how to apply that to the design of Digitanks
* OddGames development journal - O-san announces a free lite version of Path Wizard in the App Store
* jpetrie's journal - the SlimDX June release is now available, as is a survey to help the creators get a better idea of the developers they are working for
* Journal of Lethargic Programmers - A video of the Outerra engine in action with a Cessna flying high over some mountains. Makes me wish Microsoft Flight Simulator was still in development. Also, more cool screenshots in an earlier entry last week
* Journal of matt_j - matt_j also has a new lite version in the App Store for his game Spectre 3D
Gamedev Stuffs
* Feathers and Code - Soooo, these are some pretty extensive entries from Mathucub with absolutely no comments. I find that odd. Either that, or I can feel better knowing I'm not the only one who has no clue what he's talking about. Also, I'm itching like mad to fix those line breaks and lack of source tags
* The Bag of Holding - ApochPiQ has some additional thoughts for his "Navmeshes in 3D space" entry from early last month that discussed AI movement in six degrees of freedom, like outer space.
* Gauntlets of Recursion (+3) - HopeDagger discusses the ups and downs he's encountered so far in developing for the iPhone
* tinyrocket - lilljohan outlines the basic structure of his conversation system for his RPG project
Other Stuffs
* Any Colour You Like - Ooh look! More techo gadgetry action. Wait... "dsPIC33 VDC with GLCD or PAL TV output" crap I knew I shouldn't have admitted to copying his entry titles.
Thanks for dropping by Jason Z, Ashaman73, Evil Steve, phantom, Prinz Eugn
