Something different.

Just wanted to share some pics with you all. Got bored today and felt like grabbing a new comp case, but didn't like any of the ones I saw.
One trip down the Army Surplus store later, came back with this solid old box.
It occurs to me I should have taken pics of the work I actually did to get what I wanted, maybe I'll pull everything out later...
As it is, the main chassis is bolted to the lid, and once the lid is detached, everything lifts straight out with the lid. Bloody handy.
And yeah no dvd drive, may get a usb one instead as it's a tight fit and I would rather not cut much more out.

The Monster sink, Coolermaster Hyper z600. After seeing smallish HS all the time, then recieving this big basterd... Just wow.

Everything in the old case.
And now straight to the final product.

Edit::
Extra pics, these will give everyone an idea of what I've done to fit it all in.

Lifting out, thought I'd turn off the flash for glowy goodness.

Completely out, more glowy goodness!

Better view of the top.
And I almost forgot...

ARRRGGGHHH!!!! GLOWY GLOWY BLUEY GOODNESS!!!
For those who are wondering, venting in the Box is done by a small vent cut out of the back left section, and the PS and exhasut fan blow it all straight up, of and GFX Card does the same, straight up to the moon.
Works quite well, 30degree day, gfx sat on around 55degree with a nice o/c and stalker running for a few hours, the cpu reached max of 45degrees.
And right at the moment now that the days cooled down, gfx is 40-45 and the cpu is sitting on 32.

Yep, 430w psu does the job perfectly fine Rex, no need for overkill.
Infact I could get away with 350w and still be rock solid, after all I haven't loaded up with more than whats needed.

Very awesome case Luke! I wish I'd had a case like that during GGJ. Those handles would've made carting my rig around a lot easier. I learned back in college that old ammo boxes made for handy storage, I've got a .50 cal one that holds my SNES carts, but I never thought of making a case out of them.

Beautiful ! Very well done ! The only thing i have is a 7.62mm container which used to contain MG rounds, and the only thing that would fit would be... some PCI card :P
