Game Development Community

Solved

The issue is now being dealt with by GG so i see no need for this blog to be up anymore. I don't know how to delete it so instead i'm editing it with filler text. If anyone is able to delete it, feel free to do so

Obscure Games: Policenauts

When I first got to play this game, I couldn't understand it. It was in Japanese for the Sega Saturn. I heard in "Tips and Tricks Magazine" about the game and I asked my dad to get it for me when he went on his yearly trips back to Okinawa. Once I got it I popped it in (Had a cart that allowed me to play Japanese Games) and I forgot one important detail ... I can not read Japanese. It was sad times.

New Game Developer Community

One of the first things I have done under the new banner is to sponsor a new game developer website. The site is called GameBuilding.com. It will be independent of any single platform or engine technology. Many of us small developers have more than one platform we wish to build for. In addition we usually have more than a single engine technology in our arsenal of tools. This is why I decided to sponsor the building, and hosting of this new website.

pureLIGHT is now available, get it while it's hot!

pureLIGHT can now be purchased on the Garage Games store. It's been an adventure getting pureLIGHT to market. Working with the Garage Games folks has been great. It's cool to see people that are so passionate about what they do. They truly want to deliver a product that will enable indie developers to realize their vision. We are happy to be part of that mission.

Tris Versus Textures

Further comparison test between polysouped DTS tris count and texture sizes. Facades are dropped in favour of a fully exploreable urban environment. Tris count is multiplied by 5. Performance goes up! Also, Badgers.

Of value and faith

Torque has been around for a very long time. Still, recent events made people feel uneasy about the future. Let me express my perspective - the view I have as an associate and as someone in charge of a business. Also, check out how to get Sahara for free.

Updating the RTS Kit: Ain't it been fun!?

Yes, I gave up. It's true. Not the game (People of the Dawn) but on the RTS Kit. Shame on me you say and I'd have to agree with you. I started ...

Pixel Art

I've been a bit lacking in motivation for the last few weeks. To perk myself up, I've been working on a few side projects in my spare time. The first is that I wanted to learn to make pixel art. ...

Working on an updated Occlusion Blocker for T3D

While there are zones/portals for T3D to use with DTS objects, there are still always needs to eat even more rendered objects to save on frames/draw calls. So, after quite a bit of work and refactoring it seems to be working really well.
