I bore you with details of how I'm implementing AI senses, regale you with tales of my personal life, and make excuses about why there hasn't been another Walkabout update.

I just added the code I have been working on for the voxel terrain to be fully networked. What this means is all edits done to a terrain will been sent on demand to any connected client.

Ok, I figured I better explain a couple of things with this blog. First, I know I am VERY VERY late as far as getting the Africa Savanna Environment Pack shipped out. I do however, have some decent reasons.

Linux should be a first class citizen in game development. With the support of Valve, Intel's open source drivers, and the indie darlings at the Humble Bundle, Linux has been gaining steam as a gaming platform in recent years. GarageGames wants help getting Torque 3D onto Linux. And for that, we need you!

I have spent the last few days optimizing and fixing memory leaks for the unlimited voxel terrain system I have been working on. I am still testing various configurations for processing and loading/saving data but I think the method in this release is pretty optimal for rendering. As a result of changing the saving/loading functions any worlds saved from previous versions of this demo won't load correctly or will more likely crash the demo.

I finally got it working how I want for the most part. This is a demo of capturing loopback audio in Windows 7 (or Vista) and later.
