My first completely independent game 'Doubloons!' has been 'selling' for about a month now on iTunes. This was the first project I completed with iTorque2D, and my first attempt at making a game by myself (I was a senior programmer at Gameloft), so I was feeling pretty pleased with myself when I was able to tell all my mates to buy my game.

Don't you love it when a game in our community gets reviewed? Well, Mindwedge should be very proud of their achievement. I loved the way Monster Minis Extreme Off-Road looks, and the arcade racing is pulled off very well too.

This code snippet uses the iOS 5 GLKit library to speed up loading considerably (I've seen about a 30% improvement) Also a "FILE" mode is added as an alternative to the "KEY" mode, supporting Zwoptex output spritesheets.

One of the hardest lessons for me to learn as an Indie game developer was that I couldn't do it alone. All of the work that goes into making a good game requires a lot of different talents, ranging from programming to graphic design to 3D modeling to sound and music. And when I tried to perform each of these roles, it simply dragged out the game development project too much.

At Torque Scripter we have just released our first resource, a match 3 tutorial for Torque 2D. This resource will help users learn the engine while developing a worth while project. If you are looking to make a matching game, this resource will also be a great foundation.

So I've gone from one level of challenges to another. But I'm finally getting things to the point of actually having fun creating the remaining features.

Physit! is a 3dsMax powertool for the processing and managing data for exporting models to use with PhysX in T3D. Creating breakable buildings can be completed in minutes with Physit! compared to hours without it.

I am going to deviate from my mostly technical topics and cover an important skill: People Skills. I am not an expert, but I have been able to associate with people that are. So I will pass on what I can.
