Important Update

by Eric Preisz · 12/23/2010 (12:01 am) · 465 comments

First off, I’d like to thank everyone for all of the kind words over the past couple of weeks. Your response has been overwhelming. A thousand posts is a new record for us and during this time I saw a bunch of notifications for Torque based games being launched. We’ve had to be quiet the past couple of weeks –I’m glad that you haven’t been. Everyone I’ve talked with mentioned how steadfast our community is and I couldn't agree more.

I wanted to let everyone know that we are no longer entertaining buyers at this time. Unfortunately, we aren’t going to be able to make any comments until the new year. Please stand by for more information and enjoy the holiday season. The future looks bright.

@Eric: Heh. Know how that goes, though that must be frustrating timing indeed. Hang in there, and hope the peope you're working with play catch-up real well starting tomorrow. (It's a FUN game, you lot! C'mon! Time to PLAY!)

Got quite a collection of enthused onlookers here, heck by now I think we've got a little virtual encampment. ;-)

Best of luck and fortune as you wrap up, though...

Does that mean I should stop calling with those Prince-Albert-in-a-can jokes?

@random9q: Now you understand why communication is so diminished at the moment ;)

I am still hoping for good news.

In the meantime, I spent some valuable time learning TGB Pro and T3D during the holidays. Will be writing myself a tower defense type game (with a twist) soon.

@Daamin:

Nope, not closing that anyone knows of, and in fact things are enigmatic but hopeful around here at the moment. And, in any case, even if that wasn't true your license is still good regardless -- so enjoy and invent. :-)

@Daamin
InstantAction, our parent company of which Torque was a division, has closed its doors. We have been vetting buyers for the Torque line since the announcement of the closure, but are now off the market. We will be announcing more soon.

@Ted - No, it means you need to write a TAPI/Text-to-Speech program to automate the Prince-Albert-in-a-Can jokes so that you can deliver them to as many of the phones as possible at once....

@Arden:

I'll drink to that!

(Coffee, it's 10am, but it's my drink of choice anyhow.)

</sarcasm> Pretty sure "bright future" means something much more significant. Can't wait to see the way Torque heads to.
