Today, InstantAction informed employees that it will be winding down operations. While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.

I really don't understand the problem. Any bug can be solved. Thats the point of having the source code. Are you expecting to GG to adjust the engine exactly for your needs? Wake up! No engine in the market will do that. You want a special feature, build it!

I understand what you meant but when you squish it into a small post it comes across funny, to me at least.

Guimo, it kind of sounds like you're saying that fixing bugs is a feature that you can add because you have source. :PI understand what you meant but when you squish it into a small post it comes across funny, to me at least.

Hey Jon D, If you are still finding problems with Torque 3D 1.1 - Beta 3 (what I am finding to be perfectly what I knew T3D could grow up to be...), now is the time to post in the forums to get some collaborating solutions going. Many of the small issues I have run into, I find others are already working together to find a fix, in the forums. So you could put your frustrations to work for solutions, in place of grumbling about such an unfair world.

It does kinda to me, too. Forced terseness s/t generates ambiguities. (Then again, s/t so does verbosity.)
I'm pretty sure we're better off with source code EVEN if we never do a single source edit when handling a bug. We've the option of scripting around it, but examining the engine source to more quickly & exactly DEFINE the problem & how to eliminate it.

Life is SO unfair! UNFAIR! Egregiously unfair. Howlingly so...
No, I'm not sarcastically mocking anyone, life IS unfair.
Though... I've largely given up on re-observing that fact time & again, I can't make the world behave in a manner that models fairness well. Or even pretend that my version of it would be fair for everyone.
Yet... Maybe I'll find a bug *I* can squish. I don't feel I have to be fair to engine bugs. ;-)

Hopefully the fact that we're nearing the end of a quarter will prompt a business decision on the part of a buyer.

very sad news indeed, i would like to say that everyone here on these forums and all customers appreciate the torque teams effort to make game making and designing alot easier and more efficient for that i take of my hat to these guys. and i do beleive infact a buyer will come. this piece of work is too good to forget. and one small question however, since i have the t3d and t2d engines will i still be able to create and work with these fine engines?
#1029
You can definitely continue to work with the engines. No one can take your license away.

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: yes yes yes. And yes. The website still works. I think it is past its temporary crankies while it was disentangled from other servers. Non-indie licenses, too, via the normal licensing (at) torquepowered (dot) com -- however they're down to a skeleton crew so don't panic if you email them there and you don't get same-day replies. (You might, you might not -- just sayin' don't panic.)

I totally agree with you, when I realized that life wasn't fair, suddenly all the BS that kept happening to me began to make sense :)

And yet, I stubbornly persist in being fair to life. ;-)
Kinda one sided relationship if you ask me, but hey ... whatever, I figured out how to keep myself mostly happy even if dissatisfied. Even use that dissatisfaction as a, um... "feature" or maybe more propperly a misbug.

So call it what you will, but if you call it "unfair" then nothing will every be fair in your world.
12/24/2010 (6:00 am)
Myself, I decided I was in charge of my life and stopped blaming external factors for the way things turn out. I stopped being the victim and took active control over the things that I can control, and enjoy everything else just the way it is. This was long before I achieved my very first Major, it was in Philosophy. So call it what you will, but if you call it "unfair" then nothing will every be fair in your world.

Can we get that one to beat 1038 posts and counting!?

This is why I chose my words carefully and said "wasn't fair", as opposed to "unfair", the two have entirely different connotations. on www.m-w.com the word fair has 11 different definitions, while unfair has 2. Couldn't find another word for thesaurus though...

You still conform to my point with this,"...suddenly all the BS that kept happening to me...", the semantics are the same.
I think you mean denotation not connotation but the difference truly only have value to a person working on their doctorate in linguistics. Besides this is not the time and place for such fun debate, and im not trying to insult.

"wasn't", as you use it, is not something you ONCE subscribed, but a realization made in the past. You still conform to my point with this,"...suddenly all the BS that kept happening to me...", the semantics are the same.

lol, then you should have noticed I never used the word unfair, somebody else did :) furthermore what I said was in jest, not to be taken seriously. Has taking control taken away the humor?
