Today, InstantAction informed employees that it will be winding down operations. While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.

@Gerald - Oh, I was so accustomed to whenever I ran into a glitch or bug I'd go on the Torque powered site and find the solution/answer before I could post anything... I just thought they were mind readers or something. Um, so do you guys at Torque believe in "Better late than never?" :D

Great to hear on the news Eric. Crossing my fingers, eyes, and toes for the best.

Seriously if you having the 1000 post is all we need to worry about we are saved. I am just very anxious to hear about how negations are going for a new owner for torque3d and just all the torque engines in general.

With less news floating towards us, then support shoved at TP with positive blogs and project news, and with a site that not only lack proper posting abilities, but also have a broken search function making usage of the community == ..!..
Showing an effort trying to keep it alive would be appriciated...

@Christian: I haven't used the search function on this site since someone posted the "site:torquepowered.com <keywords>" tip to use with Google. Doing that lets Google do the sorting (which it does much better), and it shaves a good bit of time off your search times for it.

As Eric mentioned earlier we've reached the point where hardware is getting moved around and it will cause some things to be up and down for the time being. Yes, one of those things is search. As Ted mentioned its best to use Google for now until it can be brought back online. As for news, we're sharing everything that we can as soon as we can.

The team is not running at capacity now...it's probably just a skeleton crew. People have lost their jobs, dude...show some compassion.

@Christian...expecting the folks here to make appreciable efforts to support the product line and site functionality is kind of like asking someone with no arms and no legs to run to the kitchen and make you a sandwich. The team is not running at capacity now...it's probably just a skeleton crew. @Ron - While I agree that we shouldn't expect much from Torque now, but that doesn't help those of us who were promised a complete and bug free product. Please keep in mind that we paid them. I fully expect a full refund or a finished bug-free product.
#1015
You did get a complete product; 1.0. And you were never promised bugfree, as no software has ever been bugfree ever, and TP did say that under the reign of B.Seyler and also in the site eula and "T and C"s. In fact you were never "promised" anything.
Whether it was as you envisioned or not, you got what you paid for.

@Jon D - Gonna have to side with Steve on this. I don't remember any of us making such statements. Quote:While I agree that we shouldn't expect much from Torque now, but that doesn't help those of usYou couldn't be more wrong. What Eric is trying to do right now will help everyone. Long term gains are top priority right now, not simple site bugs.

@Christian S - Quote:Showing an effort trying to keep it alive would be appriciated...Eric chiming in to report progress and the positive blogs/support from the Torque community is definitely showing everyone is trying to keep it alive.

Oh, wait. I got it!
Seriously, I can understand frustration if there's a _particular_ bug that's killing your project. But on the whole it's a high-quality engine.

I expected a stellar engine rewrite that rebuilt TGEA onto more solid footing into the future along with some great included new premade shaders and rendering-object classes for a bargain price, dammit!Oh, wait. I got it!

Yes, we have inconveniences. Yes, they're frustrating. Perspective and empathy helpful, regardless.
12/22/2010 (5:33 pm)
As for appreciation, maybe it's just me, but I don't expect to be waited on while I'm trying to show support for someone else -- several of them, in fact -- who are clearly in a more difficult position than I am. This site's running, on a skeleton crew, this "Post Comment" thingy still works even if stingy on space. Peer support on the forums is apparently still alive.Yes, we have inconveniences. PS-- @Michael: "Long term." I love the sound of that. Hoping it works. Waiting to see.
