Today, InstantAction informed employees that it will be winding down operations. While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.

But yeah, big changes I _expect_, one way or another from this.

... I knew if I put in the work I could _eventually_ go at it in C++. So I'm spending my time learning more about the engine in case I have to support it _as if_ I wrote it. Big headache, but that's the worst-case scenario, and hardly a deal breaker for me.But yeah, big changes I _expect_, one way or another from this.

Every one needs to calm down over all this. If they go out of business thats not all bad. yes people will and already have lost there jobs but that is business and at least there are meny other ways on getting information on the torque engine. Its not the end of torque but a new beginning.

Slow down, you missed the bit wherein we discovered the forum has a bug and past page 44 of comments a moderator has to manually extend that "last" page link? Everything's posting!
Meanwhile, from someone who's been through laid off before, you might be a bit less cavalier about them losing jobs. That said I agree with the _rest_ in as much as there are multiple ways this _can_ work to the good.

It has been a month and a day since the announcement, though I can understand how it can feel like a lot longer.

//Caylo gets it...most others create assumptions, "read-into" the words, and then reply negatively towards me.
- If you don't get my posts, that's ok..but there is no need to act like your assumption of my perception is correct. Several people have done this to me in this blog and it's getting a bit old.

Official TP is still running as a company, makes sense to get a December update.

Max Gaming maintains a master server for all of our Torque based games, I would have to check and see what is required to have 3rd parties access it. But needless to say you MUST have another master server setup if you plan to do Multiplayer games with Torque Tech, this is something that we learnt long ago because the server GarageGames/TorquePowered ran always had its stability in question and it affected a few major marketing launches we did with the original Lore.

I read that as "you have the power to make your own game, you'd better plan on taking the reigns on your own when its go time". Sound about right? Anyone ever put together a checklist of points in the source/scripts that hit "generic" network resources that ought to be redirected?
And any companies aside from Max Gaming you'd recommend for hosting a master server?

@Logan - yeah, don't worry I have two master servers already setup :) - I tend to use the GG one for testing purposes. Hopefully IA(C) are not closing down the master servers as quite a few people use them for testing.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
I just found out about this shutdown(I'm late to the party, you ate all the chips, yes yes, I know). Perhaps I'm not the most avid player on IA, but this... This is a load of crap... IA was like if Steam was online and all the games were free... I'm gonna miss my AoA and my Legions...

Speaking for myself, I assume no magic savior. I adamantly _hope_ for the best while preparing for the worst. And while I'm not in Rex's "comfy" place I actually have confidence in my ability to get there. Buying Torque for me was a huge _time saver_. ...
