Hey, Shipwreck DVD now available

Hey, everybody!
I am pleased to announce the arrival of the DVD of Hey, Shipwreck: The First Season!

I do believe this is the first Torque machinima that is being distributed commercially, and I am planning to donate some of the profits to the Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society.

Sales have been great since I made the DVD available last week, and we are on track to be able to produce the second season with a...um...what is that thing called again? Oh, yeah! A budget!

Thanks to everyone for their inputs, comments, and support, and special thanks to Garage Games associate John Seguin for all the outstanding music he wrote for the series!

Hey, Shipwreck: 13 and 14, & Navy Wife Radio

Hey, everybody!

I got the 14th episode of "Hey, Shipwreck" up this morning, and the 13th episode has been up for a month. Production has slowed down a bit, however John Seguin and I have been busy with behind-the-scenes, business development-type stuff. We also have been getting inquiries to provide services commercially, and I'll keep you all posted once we lock one of those down. A big obstacle we are encountering is that machinima is still considered largely as an "interesting" tool to make "unprofessional" films with existing video games...a formal challenge if I ever heard one...

Also, I was a guest again on "Navy Wife Radio," hosted by Wendy and Marie of SubmarineWife.com. Head on over to their site and check it out! And last week, they had actual celebrities on the show, like Tae Bo Billy Blanks and Sally Pressman from the Lifetime TV show "Army Wives," so check those episodes out, too!

I'm aiming to get the season finale 15th episode up before the end of August, and releasing a DVD in October (which, among other goodies, will have a featurette showing the production pipeline, hopefully useful to the GarageGames community.) And with the business development side going rather well, it looks like we'll have more help for series production (i.e. employees)...yay, capitalism!

Hey, Garagegames!

Just got the twelfth episode of Hey, Shipwreck online, and I'm just going to say that John Seguin is the man...

Also, I got a number of messages regarding the Navy Times Article from civilian types that are enjoying the series, in response to my comment that "the average viewer will not know what's being talked about." I'm really glad that in my endeavor to maintain accuracy, the themes of the series are still being appreciated by a larger audience. Thanks!

And someone thought I was worthy enough for Wikipedia, so thanks to that person as well!

I'll be in the Seattle area for a leadership school all next week, and it will be fun hanging out with a bunch of sailors again. And by hanging out, I mean consuming alcohol.

The current edition of the Navy Times features a write-up about the series! Pretty much everyone in the Navy reads the Navy Times, or at least glances at it at the check out line at the exchange. Hoo-yah, free publicity!

Just got the tenth episode of the series uploaded yesterday, and I do believe I failed to make a posting for the 9th episode, which has been up for a couple of weeks. Dirtbag!

Got a great e-mail from the guy who just retired as the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, or MCPON. This sailor was the highest ranking enlisted guy in the Navy, and a former submariner. You can read his message on the site's homepage.

I've made some improvements to the site, including an aesthetic redesign and episodes available via embedded flash. It's pretty slick, but let me know if anybody experiences any difficulties with viewing the episodes.

I'm currently researching what sponsorship or advertising opportunities are present for the site. If anybody out there has any ideas, drop me a line! Tens of thousands of downloads a month to a tech-savvy military market should generate some interest, and the awareness of the site is growing every month.

Hey, Shipwreck: The 6th Episode & Podcast

Hey, everybody!

Just wanted to let you know that the sixth episode of "Hey, Shipwreck" is now available for enjoyment by the disgruntled masses! Get to www.tubedaze.com to download...

Also, for all you hip, iPod sporting types, I set up the "Hey, Shipwreck" Podcast as well as made all the episodes available in Quicktime! The podcast can be subscribed to at www.tubedaze.blogspot.com...

The series has really taken off in the last month, thanks to catching the eye of some prominent military bloggers, most notably a retired submarine officer who composed a very flattering blog post about the series HERE.

And so far in the 19 days of February, there have been more than 30,000 episode downloads...which is modest in the grand arena known as the internet, but an accomplishment for me. I've received hundreds of e-mails from military servicemembers, ranging from guys who have been in only a couple of years to guys who detached from the service twenty-five years ago! I even got an e-mail reporting that a high ranking naval officer at a strategic programs department in Washington, DC laughed so hard he almost pissed his pants.

Thanks to everyone in the GarageGames community who is supporting the series, and the 7th episode should be up in a couple of weeks!

Hello, GarageGames!

Well, things are really rolling now, and the first season of "Hey, Shipwreck" is officially 33% complete! It seems like just a couple of weeks ago that it was only 27% complete...

And again, Mr. John Seguin delivers with some awesome music, so get on down to his site and check out his stuff!

Head on down to www.tubedaze.com to download the Fifth Episode of "Hey, Shipwreck" and help out a veteran. If you are new to the series, download the other four episodes, too!

Expect Episode 6 out in a couple of weeks! Also, tell all your buddies about the series, since more traffic will attract advertisers, and advertisers bring money, and money brings better episodes for you...and better episode for you brings world peace, so just do it.

Lastly, thanks to everyone who is supporting the series. I've been getting tons of great feedback, and this has been instrumental to improving the series as it is released. Thanks!
