I'm looking to move into the Haunted Attraction sector. My new ambient collections will be for haunted houses and theme parks around the country and the world. These new packs are for scenes as well as entire haunts. They specialize in bringing the scare out of the scene and theming of the haunt attraction. That is what's next for me anyways. Not to worry, I'm not leaving the gaming scene. My new ambient packs after the haunt packs are done will once again return to gaming. And with several projects in the works, I'm not going to be but an email away.

Wish me luck! :-)

Type at you all again shortly... and thanks for reading...

Will Zettler
dlstorminc@yahoo.com
Waskom, Tx

Ambient Sound pack: Behind the scenes

Hey again everyone,

While I've been playing around with You Tube for the first time, I'm having a blast. I blog about our upcoming game, Beyond The Abyss and now I'm going to be producing a complete behind the scenes to my Ambient Sounds packs collections to show you how I make a Ambient Pack, and I will walk you through from a blank slate to the finished item, all FREE on you tube.
SAW: The Game coming soon

All:

Just got an update on the Saw video game... here is the link to read it:

http://forums.ukcs.net/viewtopic.php?p=6653338&sid=9a91679d89daef74035810c1177ccf39

And here is about the game itself...

SAW Videogame Details!

Producer Oren Koules told us a little about the making of the upcoming SAW video game, which has been teased on the site a few times as of late. "Charlie Clouser is doing the music," also adding that "it takes place during the timeframe of the first SAW." He continues, "All the actors real voices are involved - and it is being written by Leigh Whannell and James Wan. The game will be available in October 2009 on all platforms, but the heads at the game company are not letting us talk too much about it." Berg also explained to us that the game will be a walk -through where you pick up weapons along the way. He also joked that he thought the plotline was so good that he wishes he could use it for SAW VI, adding that they don't want to make a movie based on the game.

Honestly I don't like movie to game based products but hope this one is better then the last several I've played. I love the Saw series (thus the logo I use) but can a game have the same impact as the movie? I don't think so myself. Matrix broke me from buying games based on movies. I was thinking even if they would have EA doing the game using the Unreal engine, it wouldn't be that good but maybe it might actually surprise, who knows we will have to wait and see... what do you all think?

I say its going to bomb good but thats just me...

Will

All new Ambient Sounds coming!

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since my last post, have had so much going on. Lets begin with Ambient sounds Pack 1 that is already up here on Garage Games, it now has just got better. I have released the key files which are used in the software REASON v3 or 4 by Propellerheads (http://www.propellerheads.se). You can now directly edit up the entire pack to your liking, even making new sounds off the old files. This pack has to be the most customizable audio pack available today here or any where else. Unlike other packs who only give you the ogg files to work from, here, you can now go beyond the usual limits of editing up the wav or ogg files and now custom build your sounds to suit your project... you can even resample the complete package to a higher level and make it sharper sounding or whatever your project calls for. You can get it over at: www.garagegames.com/products/89/

5 new Ambient Sound packs are about to come online. Exclusive only to Garage Games. The contracts are signed and they should launch in the next week or two, but I don't want to give an exact date and something go wrong that delays them... so I'll stick to a week or so from now. Here is a break down on the new packs that you will soon see up here...

Ambient sounds pack 2: Dark nightmares - This is the pack that sparked me to make a zombie pack. Has a really rich set of sounds, dark and moody feeling. 8 strong world themes here for this pack features 35 Ambient Sounds with a rough run time of 43 minutes for the entire pack. Pack took about 2 weeks to make from start to end. Don't know how much it will go for once it cuts up here yet...

Ambient sounds pack 3: Extreme nightmares - his special pack features 20 Ambient Sounds in 12 unique and terrifying worlds with a rough run time of 45 minutes for the entire pack. another one that took me about 2 weeks (about 4-8 hours a day for almost a solid 14 days to finish). This has a theme for those looking for a dark since above the last pack. Very creepy moods in this one. Check it out when it comes online shortly.

Ambient sounds pack 4: Halloween Collection - I wanted a different theme setting for this pack. The others used spacey moods to scare you, this pack comes out of left field with some Halloween style sounds. Most of the 24 files were done in FL Studio 4 and 5 over a time span of about a year working on them in my spare time off and on. There are 8 exciting world areas to explore with some 24 files total. I have included a special extra folder with 6 extra sounds to bring this pack to a grand total of 30 sounds in this one. If you want a terrifying Halloween feel to your game, then this is the pack you need.

Ambient Space - Take a journey through space. Used for game levels or easy listening. Go beyond Ambient with this pack... more details to come...

Universal Moods - Completely spacey feel and sounding. If you lived in space, this would fit the mood there for easy listening or game making. Amazing journey through the realm of sounds to bring you a pack unlike anything you have heard in Ambient before. More details coming... and is exclusive to Garage Games!

And later...

Ambient Sounds: Zombie Moods - A complete Ambient pack for those making a horror or zombie game. This pack will feature 12 strong cuts to make any level a spooky one. All in Ogg format and will be available on my web site www.digitallightstormstudio.com October 24th, 2008 for $19.95 a copy. I'm working with Garage Games to see if I can also add this exclusive to this site, will keep you posted...

Expedition Space - Coming November 2008 to my web site Digital Lightstorm Studio

Evolution Of Sound - Coming Jan, 09 to my web site

Fusion Of Sound - Coming March 2009 to my web site

Those are the projects I'm currently working on between working my day job. Please watch for them. If you have a project that needs a custom Ambient piece, you can contract me as well for work. Just drop me an e-mail at dlstorminc@yahoo.com or visit http://www.digitallightstormstudio.com for more details and I hope you enjoy the coming packs. I am enjoying making them for you all to use in your projects. Like I always say, follow your dreams with all your heart and you can never go wrong... that is how I live.

Til next time,

Will Zettler
dlstorminc@yahoo.com
Digital Lightstorm Studio
http://www.digitallightstormstudio.com
Waskom, Tx

Ambient Sounds Collections Coming Soon!

Hi ya All,

Been a little longer then expected to blog but I have really big news coming down the pipe very soon here at Garage Games. I've been in touch with the content specialist, Derek who is in charge of the content packs and wanted to move some of my newer Ambient sound collection stuff up here to the site along side my all time favorite: http://www.garagegames.com/products/89/ that is still up here on the content side for just under $20.

I'm not exactally sure as of the time of this post what all he will post but the content I was looking to get up will blow you away if you have heard my first sound pack, get ready for a ride unlike anything heard before in sound. I have spent the last two years off and on designing these packs from the ground up to make them extremely special and unique for your game. I have had a lot of fun making the content too, it has been a blast and then some.

Ok, first...

Here is a list of Ambient sounds in the order I did them...

Ambient Sounds Pack 1 (the one up here at Garage Games now)
Ambient Sounds Pack 2
Ambient Sounds Pack 3
Ambient sounds Pack 4 Halloween Collection

Ambient sounds 5-7 never released publicly**

Ambient Space
Universal Moods
Expedition Space - Coming October, 2008*

Evolution Of Sound - coming Dec, 2008*
Fusion Of sound - coming Early 2009*

* - not yet contracted to GG but will submit copy when it is finished
** - Using sounds in these packs for creation of new packs and to help as a filler to other packs

I have had rave reviews by all levels of gaming people on these content packs. Each usually takes me around 6 months to create from the ground up. I usually use Reason 4 for the sounds or dive into my Synth Maker to create unique sounds by making my own VST plug ins without programming when I need a cutting edge sound that I just can not find a already made VST that has it. I also like using Live to bring in the VST units and mix them up to make what you hear.

The packs that go up are still up in the air but I am thinking they might pub me for all the ones listed, I'm not sure as of yet. I know I'm thrilled to have them come on line to Garage Games and the road to making them was fun but very long to get to this point in my life. I'm glad I have gone for the ride as it has made me stronger to know I can do this on my own and make money from doing what I love so much. I will know what packs will be coming online in the coming weeks, but there is a good chance all listed above will make the cut so watch for them. If you have my first pack, then your in for a ride with the new stuff... as Criss Angel always says "are you ready?"

Other areas of my life are working contracting work part time for custom sound packs, texture making and next Atlas and Terrain creation which I'm finding hard right now to do but slowly getting the hang of it. I'm working on cutting my tie to my day job as a truck driver and do what my calling has been, make quality content packs for game designers. Hope you all enjoy when they come to light here on line and hope you pick one or more up for your next project. Til my next blog, the Phantom has left the building... for now!

Will Zettler
dlstorminc@yahoo.com
http://www.digitallightstormstudio.com
Waskom, Tx

PS: In the coming weeks I'll be posting my new PO box address for those who want to send me cards or what not. Will post it soon...

Edit: Image

Free Pier 19 Content Pack!

www.digitallightstormstudio.com/free/pier_19.zip

Ok guys Thanks once more for the support on my work. I'm trying to make a name for myself in the gaming arena and it's tough! There are a lot more experienced guys out here then what I offer but I'm working on bringing that standard way up. This is my Pier 19 Pack, just an old run down pier that can be used in almost any game or project. Its a fun one I worked on for about 3 hours or so the last few days, and is a project I'm proud of.

Read the readme file for all the details. I'm working on a Pier Pack add-on that will be coming available in the coming weeks for $9.95 for 10 new textures which should make 2 new styles of theme for this pack. The money in turns helps support my efforts for working on all this in my spare time. I love to release free stuff too don't get me wrong. :-) Watch for my Warehouse pack coming next week, I have to alter the textures some and modify a few things on it to polish it up and I'll drop it up here for you all as well to check out. Then, the following week I should have my Level 1 Complete which is a sewer level I made for my FPS torque titans about a year ago but the game never flew, so I'm releasing that as well in about a wk or two from now, just need to polish it up for launch here.

Thanks again to everyone who enjoys my work, thank you so much for the kind feedback. After I release all my free stuff I'm going to start work on marketing my Ambient Sounds packs and the 4 new packs I got going on right now to help fund my love of game content making. I'm for hire btw, if you need a building/structure designer, a FPS like Quake 3 Arena level builder, a texture guy or a ambient sound/music specialist let me know, I'm available for contract work as well as perm on site work to be hired full time. I'm a truck driver right now and enjoy my work but want to up the level some to really do what I love, gaming.

If you want to contact me, drop me a line dlstorminc@yahoo.com Thanks everyone! GG is awesome and so are you, my fans.

Ok guys, Thanks to everyone (and a big thank you for the wonderful comments from Russell Fincher of Sickhead Games!) for my efforts on the packs thus far... I really enjoy hearing from you all on the content I'm releasing. These next two mini packs are just small content scenes, really nothing fancy and was just used as place holders in my game making on a few ideas I had. These are from the early start of me working on building structure design and structure. So please don't expect a whole lot but there might fit your game or as a place holder as they were in my projects.

I honestly don't remember where I got the textures from for the mission pack but the 2nd pack I created all the textures for the scene myself from photos I had. I hope you enjoy these. Watch for more in the coming week or so!! Thanks for all the feedback good and bad...

South Street Church Mission Pack 1: 12 512x512 textures plus two banner logos for the front and back of mission. I do structures in 3D World Builder and can make pretty decent productions if given enough time to create the texture assets and the theme of the level. Usually between my day job as a truck driver which sucks up 11-14 hours a day depending on the load, I can usually have a production model to you in about 2-3 days tops for a working model of a building or whatever your looking for (structure wise as I am not a modeler guy, I do very very light modeling in Milkshape and some Max 9). Write me and let's talk if you need a contract guy for your project and are willing to work with me and my day schedule job. :-)

Thanks and enjoy!

Will Zettler
Digital Lightstorm Studio
http://www.digitallightstormstudio.com
Waskom, Tx

Edited: Image Links not showing

FREE MAX CRATE PACK!

Captions Blog 8/08...

I'd like to start by saying thank you to everyone who enjoys these content packs I release, both free and pay alike. Without you there wouldn't be any enjoyment in doing what I love... making Textures, Texture packs, model packs and ambient sound packs for gaming of all levels. Thank you for your kindness! Ok, I now have a texture pack for you all, its not much but it should make a few people happy since it is free and a free resource. It's of a wall for a level of a base or something near that. I offer it in 6 versions so some wall may fit your project, you will just have to download it and check it out. All textures are in 1024x1024 size. Nothing fancy here as far as TGEA stuff goes like normals or whatnot. Just basic textures you can build off of but may NOT sell for your own gain.

The usual stuff is if you like and use these packs please donate to my efforts I spend a lot of time trying to perfect my art and skill to release these free packs. If you make money on them, you are asked to donate to my efforts, if you don't make money on your project then don't worry about it. Donations may be sent to me at willsmagicphantom@yahoo.com for any pay pal donations.

First is the wall pack, then comes the long awaited Crate pack for Max 9 I released a few years ago. I enjoyed making both but am more a texture and music guy then a model guy. The crate pack is my first effort at models, so I kept it simple and did crates with strong texture sets for gaming. Hope you enjoy. If you don't like them, I'd like to hear back as to why you don't, but I'm not here to try to please everyone, I can't. :-) But I try!!!

Enjoy...

Links:

http://www.digitallightstormstudio.com/free/crate_max9.zip
Max 9 Crate Pack - about 6 Megs

http://www.digitallightstormstudio.com/free/free_wallv1.zip
For Wall Pack v1.0 - about a Meg in size

http://www.digitallightstormstudio.com/free/walkway.zip
Walkway pack for Walkways in FPS games - About 27 Megs

Let me know of projects you use these packs in so I can get a collection together for use as a referance page to show off who is using my packs and how so I might gain some more exposure on the gaming front. Please mirror these links as I can't guarantee how long they will remain on my site as it is always changing and things break. If there is a broken link please let me know and I'll fix it.

If you like these packs, then please watch for my new ambient sounds collection that should be out by end of Summer, 08 which will blow your mind with totally kick tail sounds! Watch my site for details... http://www.digitallightstormstudio.com which is a mess right now but WILL BE up and running Mid to late Sept, 08 is what I'm shooting for. So please bear with me... Thanks guys for your time! and yes, your very welcome for the packs!!! :-)

Will Zettler
http://www.digitallightstormstudio.com
dlstorminc@yahoo.com
magic_man4_life@yahoo.com
willsmagicphantom@yahoo.com for pay pal donations and for music and Ambient sound pack questions
Waskom, Tx

Movie Game News, Pirating and more!

Captions Blog, Stardate 72708:

Just rambling on about a few things i didn't know if you all knew about or not but I
thought it was interesting... first off, on the movie front... video games of two huge movies
are now in the making. My personal favorite, Saw 5 is rumored to be in the making of a PC
game based on the movie, but if games based on movies is any tale of past hits then this game
will flop...

I honestly don't see how they can figure in a game like this, but if the rumors
are true, then we can see how good or bad it makes the cut. Another movie to game concept is
the really unique Cloverfield 2 is now in the making and will release a game based on the new
release. No word as of yet if it will be PC or Xbox 360 based but if it does come out I'm
sure they will hit all the system and the PC too with it.

I hear that the game will feature you with a video camera running around taking footage of the events unfolding around you in a FPS like setting. Don't know how exciting it can get doing this method but, hey, I'm all for something different in the game realm as far as ideas go. I did find the first film really unique, nothing like I had seen before (And no, I didn't see the Blair Witch movie but hear its almost the same).

Pirating News... like this is new right?

Just did a search for Torque Game Engine and came up with an unlikely result...

http://www.mininova.org seems to have pirated the GG engine we paid for! But too, I guess
this is what the world has stumped to as far as getting anything for free now. So from this
effort of making pay software free to everyone, does this mean I *have* to release my future
content packs, and all my Ambient sound packs that I worked so hard on for free just cause no
one wants to pay for anything anymore? Does this mean I should give in and up on my ideas of
making money at game making? Sure seems like I'm pushing against the waves trying to make a
buck for my efforts, but I'm sure one day I will get known and will have the same fate as
everyone else there. It's just a matter of time til my games, sound packs and models are up
there free for the taking... but that's the dark side of the beast we call the Net.

So does this mean now I can have a new modeling package like XSI for free insted of buying it? I don't think so unless I want jail time. I always buy all my software if I want or need it for the studio, I use demos to see if I like them first but always BUY the stuff I want or need.

I don't dare give up, I'm sure those who know my work will want to support my efforts on a
good quality job done. I have one pack up here on GG already for Ambient Sounds which I'm
proud of. I still haven't found it pirated YET but still dreading the day it will come. Then
what? just keep on going, we can't stop it, but we can slow it down with strong security on
the file front. Sure, Keygens arn't 100% but too nothing is. If someone wants your software
bad enough I guess nothing can stop them... but that is only my two cents rambling on...

Ambient Sounds Packs 2-5 and beyond coming soon...

Just wanted to let you know on a better note that my Ambient Sounds packs 2 and up plus my
Ambient Space pack, Universal Sounds pack and Multi Moods packs will be coming online at my
new site shortly... http://www.digitallightstormstudio.com and the site is a mess right now
but will shortly be up and running for all your content needs... the free stuff will be there
plus pay content like the Ambient sounds collections and model, texture and art stuff I am
working to bring to you as fast as I humanly can. I'm hoping to make the site one of the
biggest on the net as far as content for Indy and pros go. There will be a wide range of
content there, plus, I'm even thinking of contracting others to bring their art, and content
packs online there with me and mine so we all can grow and benifit in fame and try to feed
ourselves in the process from the sales, or lack of in some cases! :-)

I hope you enjoyed my news pieces in this segment of my Blog... I'll be back before you

know it and remember, when asked how you are are, always reply "I'm better then I deserve",

it gets a lot of smiles :-) just a saying I learned from a great guy... Dave Ramsey check him out on talk radio sometime, he is worth your time invested, trust me :-)

Bye for now,

Will
magic_man4_life@yahoo.com
http://www.digitalightstormstudio.com
