TIG: Orlando - Round 2 - the morning after (picture heavy)

So we've got one more TIG under our belts. Last night we had roughly the same amount of people as last time, however they were almost all new faces. So I consider that a complete success, especially considering the last minute nature of this TIG. If you didn't get to come last night you missed out on some really cool stuff, but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Here's Davey waiting for our little shindig to get under way.

The crowd, also waiting for said shindig to get under way.

Logos a go-go.

Our little shindig gets under way. Davey talks TorqueX.

The TIG crew keeps watch from the back. Garrett recently shipped his awesome puzzle game Oddictive. Go buy it, right now, don't worry, I'll wait.......

.....ok, now back to the show.

At this point Eric thought I was being lax in my photography duties and pilfered my camera to take pictures of the TGBX editors.

Shorty afterward I wrestled back control of the camera just in time to take this shot of the Marble Blast XNA demo. Such a pretty marble.

After a Q&A session things wrap up and we call it a night.

Everybody mingles about for a bit before heading out.

I hope everyone that came out last night enjoyed it, and we hope to see you again next time.

TIG Orlando: The Pictorial (Image Heavy)

Well it would seem that after all this time I finally have something to post a blog about, and that thing is TIG Orlando with lots of pictures. Michael summarized everything pretty well earlier so I won't go into it again too much.

I was pleasantly surprised by the interest in the Simulation presentation considering that the majority of the people there from the sim/serious games community were my boss and coworkers. The conference in general went rather well, especially since none of us involved in the planning had done anything like this before. Of course, now that we have one under our belt all future TIG Orlando conferences will be even better.

So how about some of those pictures I was talking about. I have to apologize if they're not that great, they were taken with a camera phone....

....which is certainly not the fault of this guy, because he definitely did not leave his digital camera at his apartment after specifically setting it on the end table by the door ten minutes before leaving so he didn't forget it.

Here we see Garrett Brown and Michael Perry hard at work beating back the crowds.

Here I am tactfully interrupting a conversation Eric Preisz was having. As you can see, I had yet to discover that the camera phone did in fact have a zoom function.

The crowd is getting restless anxious for the conference to get under way.

Not to worry, a soccer style Torque riot is deftly averted thanks to some pretty demo videos with rockin' soundtracks provided by GG.

The presentations are kicked off. Here we see Eric captivating the audience with his mad presenting skillz.

This demonstration of Constructor was shot before a live studio audience. Those of you who chose not to attend can feel free to start kicking yourselves now.

That pretty much wraps up the pictures that were decent enough to post. Pretty much every picture I took of the demos on display turned out pretty ugly. Obviously this is due to the fact that Torque products contain far too much awesome than can be captured by a mere camera phone. I want to thank everyone who came out for the event and we hope to see all of you again next time.
